  1. Reasonably full today, and it's in the low 40s out there
  2. If the baseball reporters in this town were any good, we'd be getting an article soon speculating on how much lost revenue this means. I'll wait for tomorrow to see how many show up when the wind chill isn't in the low 30s
  3. Everyone at the game looks miserable.
  4. Not sure the last time I saw Wrigley this empty
  5. Don't you dare talk [expletive] about Milt Rosenberg. Milt once had a two hour show on the history of punctuation.
  6. Well, whoever paid that guy to do that got his money's worth
  7. If Malholm has to suck, I'm fine with him doing it by throwing pitches at Cardinals.
  8. He's part Native American. There were quite a number of Indian and Hispanic players in the league before Robinson.
  9. This goes to 8 if they lose, right?
  10. Does anyone know anything about what the sound of fastballs tells listeners about the throw?
  11. I'd give him the hot sauce in his eyes. Hopefully blinding him. So he could never call a basketball game again. You think a little thing like not being able to see the action would stop him? He could re-call all the calls Funk makes after hearing them from the PA.
  12. As I've written here before, if he had average hands, he'd be a top 5 center. He really does play like he's got nerve damage in his hands.
  13. It's funny because it really is that easy to chart. Also, while Rose doesn't have that many turnovers, so many terrible passes that should have been.
  14. I'm surprised so many people say they remember their first. I certainly don't remember much of anything about my first few in the 86-89 years. By the end of the decade, my father was a firm Cubs-hater, so the first MLB game I remember details of was Bobby Thigpen increasing his single season save record to 51.
  15. Paul Maholm says that's not so easy. Maholm got one out before the Brewers plated any runs. But he never said it was easy
  16. interesting quarter from korver
  17. 5 games in and I missed the one win. Can't start as badly as 1997, at least.
  18. Ah, the empty stadium, where you can hear drunk guys yelling about spilled beer.
  19. well, at least this well be an interesting ending.
  20. Yes, there must be a PA limit to get that number.
  21. wtf? Did they really just call a flagrant for a failed strip?
  22. always a good sign when your team has 6 times as many turnovers as field goals
