  1. Miguel Sano is getting called up and tomorrow is July 2. If you have never watched this I could not think of a better time than now.
  2. That didn't even feel like a win, but I will most definitely take it. Bullpen is awesome. Offense, please wake up.
  3. That catch by Fowler is what I look like playing softball.
  4. SLG for and against would be my guess. I was thinking along the same lines with wOBA for and against. Not sure if I'd rather have that or WAR.
  5. If you could pick one statistic to lead the league in what would it be? Cannot pick W/L or runs or RBI. What if it had to be an offensive statistic? What if it had to be a pitching/defensive statistic?
  6. Base runners this series: Cardinals 39 Cubs 36 Cardinals did have more XBH but not enough to account for a 15-4 run differential. It must be amazing to always squeeze the most out of your opportunities and for your opponents to never do the same.
  7. Shut up just shut up you just ruined baseball for me you ass I have been just ignoring the Cardinals existence this season. Well, except when we play them, which makes it so much worse. I am just begging the Nationals or Dodgers to catch them so we won't have to play the Cardinals in the Division Series. Playing the Cardinals in the postseason is like my worst nightmare. I wouldn't enjoy one second of it until the final out was made if we somehow managed to end up on the winning side. I would normally totally agree. I have thought how much I would hate playing the Cardinals in the playoffs many times. Maybe it is because any playoffs would feel good after the past few years, but this year I sort of think the opposite. Can you imagine if the roles were reversed and the cubs were having a year where they comfortably win more than 100 games, only to have to play a young 2nd wildcard cardinals team in the first round? That would be the true nightmare. And IF we did beat them it would be delicious, but that still doesn't mean that I would relax enough to enjoy the series. I mean, I'll flip out if they're up 2-0 in the series and 5-0 in the 8th and a 3-2 borderline pitch doesn't go our way to the lead off hitter. I don't think my nerves could handle that series.

  9. I wish I could say Inhandled this like a mature adult.
  10. 3 runs over the last 31 innings. Please stop this nonsense.
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/why-dustin-pedroia-uses-the-axe-bat--which-may-make-the-round-handle-obsolete-013113798.html I want to try one.
  12. Turn on the game for Sczcur and Coghlan. Umpire freaking sucks

  14. Dear Jon Lester, please start being good like 4 out of 5 starts.
  15. Just a curious side note. I really wonder how New York comes to a conclusion on a replay. Are there like half a dozen umpires watching and discussing their opinions and then they come to a conclusion together? Is this why some reviews take awhile because some of them are arguing with each other? I have not seen or heard any explanation as to what actually goes on in this room.
  16. How did MLB possibly take something that was pretty good in its first year and make it worse in its second? Half the time I have no clue what they are going to pick and the other half of the time I am wrong. There were shots that showed Denorfia was safe. Also, get rid of the whole "clear and convincing" or "indisputable" language. Why should we be handicapped by what the original guy saw in real time from one angle? Replay could be so much better.
  17. I just realized (partially due to what Len and JD were talking about) if Wood didn't blow that game in St Louis the Cubs would not have had a single 3-gam losing streak all season.
  18. There have been a lot of bad ABs tonight Yeah. It seems, however, that Montero often just decides before the pitch he is going to swing on 3-2. Right after he has not had that approach for the previous 5+ pitches.
  19. Montero's inability to lay off 3-2 pitches in the dirt is maddening. So many good plate appearances for him this year have ended on 3-2 pitches in the dirt.
  20. Same could be asked of JD Martinez. Edit: Well, he's .848 right now, but still
