  1. Wow. The awesome catch by the kid barely gets any attention. There really is no more interest is there? I think it's funny the difference in attendance between last night and tonight.
  2. Real friends would be there when you need 'em. eh ? I think the Cubs need some friends right now.
  3. You would think a homestand against the worst team in baseball, a AAA team, a team going 1-6 in their last 7 and a game against the team that is continually getting pounded would be just what the doctor ordered, but they are UNDER .500 so far. I dislike this team more than any other Cubs team ever.
  4. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Man, will you be here tomorrow?
  5. Expletive. Expletive. Expletive. Expletive. Expletive. Expletive.
  6. If Soto bats we will see three swings and misses.
  7. 1 run vs Valverde? Yea right not the Cubs 1% is better than 0.25% isn't it?
  8. Didn't even throw a strike. Didn't even throw a breaking ball. Didn't even throw an off-speed pitch.
  9. Too bad the Cubs couldn't push Lee across in the sixth. One more run would be a little more manageable.
  10. you and me both, man I feel like you and me are too optimistic when the games aren't being played but then when the games are being played we can easily see that this team is not going anywhere.
  11. Stop. watching. the. Cubs. The. season. is. over. Don't. get. fooled. They. gained. only. because. the. Rockies. were. losing. Why don't I get it?
  12. He's had one of the best 0-for-4 nights I have ever seen.
  13. The inning we don't get the leadoff man on... HR by the number 2 guy. :banghead: That pitch to Ramirez was high. He's had one of the best 0-for-3 nights I have ever seen.
  14. I really just wish this season would end. What a nightmare. This is the biggest Cub season I can remember. Everything that could go wrong, did. The Rockies gave us a shot to get back in it this week, but we really haven't seized it. They really needed to take 5 of the 6 against NY and WAS. When a team that's struggling like Houston comes in you need to sweep. I hate the Cubs offense. I can't think of anything else that I have been more disappointed in than the 2009 Cubs offense.
  15. How many hard-hit balls are the Cubs going to hit without having anything to show for it? UGH! SO FRUSTRATING!
  16. Great, like yesterday the Cubs will continue to get leadoff hitters on to ground into double plays in late innings down by 3.
  17. So the team that has gone 1-6 their last 7 games with the pitcher who has not won in the division yet on the bump is going to beat the team that has one of the best starters of the second half going despite the fact I'm pretty sure the Cubs have a higher line-drive percentage than the Astros tonight. Lovely.
  18. Here's to something like this: SF/COL - ATL or FLA 3.0 ATL or FLA 4.0 CUBBIES!!!!! 5.0 If the Cubs can somehow get it down to 2.0 or 3.0 by mid next week, I will be completely hooked again. Colorado is starting a 10-game homestand against NYM (3), ARI (3) and CIN (4). UGH! SF has @ PHI (3), @ MIL (3), SD (3). ATL has @ FLA (4), CIN (3), @ HOU (3). FLA has ATL (4), @ WSH (3), @ NYM (3). "Tough" Opponents Marlins play Braves 7 more times (4 in FLA), Phillies 6 more times (3 each) and at St. Louis (3). Braves play Marlins 7 more times (4 in FLA), Phillies 3 more times (home), and at St. Louis (3). Giants play Rockies 3 more times (SF), Phillies 3 more times (away), Dodgers 6 more times (3 each), and Cubs 4 more times (SF). Rockies play Giants 3 more times (SF), Dodgers 3 more times (LA), and 3 more times against St. Louis (LA). Rockies and Cubs have the easiest schedules. St. Louis, LA and Philadelphia hopefully have awesome Septembers save those three Cardinals games against the Cubs. Too bad the Rockies and Giants aren't playing games against the Marlins and Braves. That would be awesome.
  19. I still am holding out hope. A win today would have been awesome. A win today and another win vs. the Nationals would have been even better. Of course, a win today, another win vs. the Nationals and another win vs. the Padres would have been glorious... UGH! This team has been frustrating. Just get hot, stick somebody else in the rotation for Z and hope the breaks fall your way. A good month and 3-of-4 from SF could do it. SF is also in the race for this thing and tied for the WC lead. Unlike the Rockies, their pitching is downright terrifying and they're getting hot at the right time. We need them to falter, too. Thankfully we have a four-game set against them towards the end of the season. If we need to makeup a small chunk of games that can really help.
  20. Exactly. However, god forbid a fan favorite get benched for crappy play. My goodness. it would be fine to bench him if a) the season still meant something b) there was a better option to take his place neither of those are true a is still true to many people as we are only 5.5 back in the WC aramis fan, I feel like we are the only ones still holding out hope for this season. Except that new guy, KFB.

  22. What a horrible game. Figueroa? It seems like we've been saying similar statements a lot the last few weeks. Seriously, they should be 5-1 on this homestand and looking at being around 3.5 out of the wild card. If Z had come back strong they could very well be 5-1.
