I hope Soriano stays healthy, his 162 game averages with the Cubs have been exactly what we have paid for. Its a shame he hasnt played 150+ and alot of the games he did play he was playing hampered with the leg. DLee needs to focus on going the other way like he used to in 04 and 05.. All last year it seemed like he rolled over and pulled the outside pitch.

Hows everybody like the lineup? Alot of talent but I think I would drop Fontenot below Soto.. I would also bat Milton 5th to protect Rammy.. followed by Soto..

Let's compare it to Christmas. How would you feel about Christmas if your dog died at the end of every Christmas? Again...I'm still excited. I think I'll be back to full excitement mode once they win a few games. I'd be excited as [expletive] to see if one of these years the new dog lives.. Its bound to happen.. yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Cubbies are here!!! I was reading SI and damn I didnt know how good of a year Milton Bradley had last year. If he stays healthy I have no doubt he will rake. I think our offense is going to be sick this year, even if the Fuk isnt good I dont think itll make a difference. Offensively I would just like them to stay healthy and for DLee to gain some of his power back. Im not expecting 45 hr's, it would be just nice for him to hit 30. Pitching just stay healthy..

Im all for renovating the grandstand but IMO Wrigley and the base of the stadium should stay the same. I dont get the big problem with Wrigley at all. People here say they feel inferior to other stadiums and I completely disagree. I have been to 7 or 8 different ballparks before and I have never once felt watching baseball was any better at those parks. They may have some cool gadgets, a jumbotron, or something like that. But, that didnt make the stadium experience any better then Wrigleys. Nicer facilities for the players would be my top priority, the fan experience I have no problem with right now. If they want to add some cool glitzy gadgets for the fans in a renovated grandstand thats fine. But, player facilities should be the first priority.

Peter Gammons said today that the Cubs are expected to go after Peavy once Ricketts and the ownership situation is solved in May. They are expected to be able to increase their payroll. 1) Since it seems Ricketts will definitely be the owner why cant he give the go ahead to increase payroll right now? 2) If the Cubs can suddenly go after Peavy in May would you expect them to try to swing a deal right away, wait for around the All Star break, or drag it out till the deadline?

The Cardinals' is easy. Pujols' elbow gives out. Otherwise, they have a ton of depth, especially position players. They might be better off if a few guys get hurt and give some prospects a chance. LOL, some fans are hilarious about the Cardinals. Cubs are doomed to hell, and the Cards well they will just win the division by more if they have injuries. Also why is everyone calling Zambrano injury prone. The guy missed a few games last year for the 1st time in his career. He has been one of the most durable pitchers in baseball throughout his career. If he is injury prone, everyone is injury prone. -

Manny could take a piss on the ivy everytime the ball comes his way in LF during the regular season as long as his bat is in our postseason lineup I would be very happy.. In fact thats what I fully expect Manny would probably do if he were a Cub. Maybe not as the balls are hit to him but definitely at least once during the season he would be spraying that ivy down.

I think the Cubs are going to make a push for Peavy. Whether the Padres deal him remains to be seen. But, with the news that the Cubs are going to name the winning bidder in the middle of the week I feel excited. Im sure Hendry foundout before the media did, and probably knew yesterday when trading Pie that the Cubs were naming the new owner. Maybe he feels the new owner will approve the Peavy trade and that is why he got Olson.

I dont buy the steroids thing soley cause of House. House has worked with many pitchers such as Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan, and many more.. if he was pushin roids on Prior wouldnt he probably have pushed them on Ryan, Johnson, etc. So where is the people accusing them of stuff.. -

IMO it looks like there is a deal out there Hendry would accept. But, he is trying to hold off for a better deal. But, when push comes to shove he may have to budge and giveup a little more than he likes. Hendrys going to wait another day and see what happens. But, I think he's willing to giveup more if he has to for Peavy.

Yeah he never said a deal had to be done by the end of the meetings. Infact it sounds like odds are pretty bad that a deal will be done by the end of the meetings. It just had to basically be going somewere, and look like it could possibly get done. If the reports are even close to true, I think we have made some progress. Yeah that guy doesnt know what hes talking about considering Towers himself said the trade would most likely happen after the Rule V draft.
