  1. Mark Grace was a Schwarble machine..
  2. Did he go Soler on the dugout and opposing team!?!?!?
  3. Does Jim Hendry have a team we can trade him to after this boost in trade value?
  4. LOL, what are the odds he can name 10 current Cubs players? This is probably how Javy feels about all the rejects he knows will be gone when him and the other waves come up.. http://www.quickmeme.com/img/d0/d01341edcfacf7337e4ea1e462b0281341d99fd1db8ed82b314631bdfeb6c042.jpg
  5. The New Murderers Row? The Boystown Bombers? http://joshandjosh.typepad.com/josh_josh_are_rich_and_fa/images/josh_h_pitcher.jpg
  6. Psh, Theo responded that Barry would be the 4th best SS in our system.
  7. I was making that connection myself, curious on this.
  8. Rich Harden probably ranks higher* to me. But, I love this move.
  9. Carlos Quentin shouldn't be allowed to bat flip, smile, or even high five someone in the dugout after a home run.
  10. I kind of hope they finish last one more year and get the number 1 pick. Then instead of the middle year where they jump to like 74 wins they go out and win like 79 next year and are in the hunt in 2016.
  11. I thought I could find this quickly on google but I couldn't. I'm curious who was the oldest player in the league that Nolan Ryan played with or against? Who was the longest tenured player that Nolan Ryan played with or against? Who did Nolan Ryan play with or against that lasted the longest into the 2000s? For playing with I'm going to guess Pudge, but thats just off the top of my head.
  12. I wonder what kind of insane arbitrary endpoints you can put together from Tony Gwynn's career for plate appearances it took him to get 33 k's?
  13. Is Saberhagen throwing tomorrow?
  14. Obviously its far ahead but what kind of draft is this shaping up to be? It the number 1 pick (great, average, or below average) compared to past number 1 prospects? Is it a draft where top 2, top 3 are all similar? Is it a draft where top 7 ends up quite similar?
  15. I secretly fantasize about him being a pinch hitter/player coach on multiple Cubs WS teams starting in 2016 with Baez & Bryant hitting like prime Manny & Albert Belle.
  16. Can someone for the love of god please make this into a Gif for me..
  17. For you... your wife... or both?
  18. Comeon Javy go out there and be somebody.
  19. lol at the comments section of that awesome awesome article... I kind of shrugged my shoulders and said yeahh well.. yeah....
  20. Even above Baez and Bryant? I do agree many are sleeping on Soler. I could see him becoming a hell of a player some day. Im dreaming we hit on Soler, Bryant, and Baez to build around an offensive core of Castro, Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, and Soler batting 2 through 6. To have bats like that in the infield and on homegrown contracts could be a massive advantage. Ideally in my dream we would break the bank on a star outfielder as well for the savings PTR would be getting in the infield.
  21. Granted I'm not a guru of the draft but isn't that a pretty sound strategy. Instead of taking a couple really talented overslot guys and why not take a bunch? Obviously there isnt enough money to go around on all of them but why focus on a couple then if they don't sign you put all your eggs in that basket just to bust. Go after tons of overslot guys and odds are you will sign a few of them, plus you might get surprises and get a couple of the guys that were rumored to be overslot desperate to sign and land some of those too. Go after tons of quality, hedge your bets cause some obviously wont sign but try and negotiate some down and see how many quality guys you can grab.
  22. I found our guy, the next Hack Wilson. http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2014/04/16/ricky-moreno/
  23. What was so special about this groundball? He looked smooth but really?
  24. Can someone make me feel better about Rodon and provide me an example of a pitcher who had the label high risk to injury troubles who turned out to be healthy and good?
  25. Gordon doesn't need the swing overhaul Turner does. And Gordon has a better arm and sounds like the better defender. I really hope the Lindor comp is legit because I love him as a prospect, but it's really scary taking a guy at 4 whose bat upside is fairly minimal. This top of this draft is crap; neither Aiken nor the 2014 version of Rodon would go ahead of any of the top 3 from last year. At one point though last year wasnt there people saying Rodon would have gone number 1 in last years draft. I was reading he was a pretty healthy notch above Gray and Appel.
