  1. I remember we got him and Aardsma for Hawkins. I was legitimately excited for Aardsma because of his knucklecurve. Aardsma had a couple decent years for us correct? I remember I was only in junior high but i thought he had some wicked stuff.
  2. Holy Moly Jerome Williams is still around? Wasnt he good when he was like 20 years old with maybe the Giants & then pretty much fell off the face of the earth.
  3. this is when you use travis wood and joe smith This couldve been Clayton Richard time!
  4. death, taxes, and some dumb cardinal with a stupid name will hit random home runs against the Cubs. We get him out when it counts: https://gfycat.com/SarcasticPleasantArgusfish\ Damn this still gets me jazzed up. I was at the game behind the third base dugout & that Schwarbomb was the loudest crack of the bat I ever heard Place was shaking to WHOOMP THERE IT IS!
  5. I believe it is. sad stuff. http://arizonasports.com/story/778025/diamondbacks-welington-castillo-moves-from-paternity-to-bereavement-leave-list/ Bereavement list can also be used for illness or medical emergencies. Hopefully its just some complications with the pregnancy and all works out in the long run.
  6. Can someone figure out the Cubs record since the Phillies swept them last year & the Cardinals record from the same date? Spoiler alert: We're better Yes... but I feel like with the Cardinals run towards mediocrity at the end of last year the Cubs might be pushing 20 up in that year long stretch.

  8. Have Chapman Ben Christianson Molina in the on deck circle.
  9. Westbrook came back lightning quick from this. Rose did well with it 2nd time around. Guy on espn1000 said its even less severe for baseball players which makes sense. Anybody have baseball players meniscus tears to reference.
  10. I hate to be this guy, but a sprain is a tear. It is technically. But in sports descriptions a sprained acl or mcl can be weeks to a couple months.. a torn acl or mcl pushes close to and sometimes more than a year of lost time.
  11. Isnt it fairly hard to tear an MCL in a non contact injury as well. Especially without tearing your ACL.
  12. Knees seem to be 50 50 sprain vs tear. Hope its the sprain. Ive seen bad knee pops come back mcl sprains. Hell there was hope schwarbers knee was just a sprain & its looked like it got ran through over by a semi.
  13. Holy horsefeathers Aroldis live is a spectacle. I seen him live against in the crazy Mariners come back but he was throwin even harder tonight.
  14. Posted this in the normal Cubs discussions but if anybody has tix they are willing to sell my number is 815 483 7814. Or reply on here. Stubhub closes sales 6 hours before the game.
  15. https://seatgeek.com/angels-at-cubs-tickets/8-9-2016-chicago-illinois-wrigley-field/mlb/2932162 Should still be able to buy from Seatgeek. Thanks, they seem to be up 30% from stubhub but might have to go with that.
  16. Had a pair picked out on stubhub but I didnt know the site closed sales 6 hours before gametime. I dont know if this will be deleted but if anybody has tickets they are willing to sell 815 483 7814 or reply to this.
  17. 8-[ The Rangers getting a new stadium is even more disgusting. I have friends leaving the Arlington DFW area because of it. That is uh weird If the taxes are drastically up because of it then it could make sense. I dont know how much a stadium could impact taxes on an individual when dispersed through a big city though. Plus taxes are pretty low in Texas anyways i hear. Hank Hill might be pissed though... Rangers arent dem Cowboys..
  18. Awesome. I dont know how he is supposedly meh with the defensive metrics. Its not like he makes the flashy play then screws up a ton. He seems pretty sure handed and makes a freakish play per week.
  19. What did Javy do? Im blacked out in milwaukee as discussed earlier.
  20. Im west of milwaukee. Does anyone know what csn would be on time warner?
  21. Im at the wisconsin state fair. They have time warner cable... any chance this game is on here & if so what channel?
  22. the up the defensive spectrum part of it is what does not matter at all. it's a random collection of PA. Clearly means hes focused more on defense in CF, so he is thinking less at the plate and just reacts... thus turning into a very good hitter & good CF at the same time. Problem solved... Finally...
  23. I dont care if its Kershaw 60 pitches into a perfect game.. i have zero problems starting Rondon in the 8th and flippin to Chapman in every close game we have a lead. Well, that's just silly. As you just saw with Chapman, those guys aren't perfect either. Arrieta was rolling. The first at bat, he was all over the corner of the zone and couldn't get a call. He wasn't really missing his spots or anything. The second AB was bad. And, of course, it was obvious to pull him there. But, before that, it is a lot of people looking at things in hindsight. Or, at best, it is people making a decision (Arrieta or the pen) that isn't entirely clear. Hell, people were calling for Chapman from the get-go over Rondon, and we saw how Rondon vs. Chapman worked out later in the inning. And those people weren't necessarily wrong. The point being: It's a tough call. And leaving in your ace when he is rolling isn't such a bad idea. I know Aroldis & Rondon are here to put out fires and they will most the time. Every one in awhile someone will rip an opposite field gapper off them taking their heat the other way. But, giving them a clean slate inning to start with & they are goin to be damn near perfect. Not necessarily unbeatable but it will be very Rare to beat. Coupled with Jakes struggles of late. Seemed like an easy decision.. its very hard to string together multiple base runners against our duo.
