  1. Is he worth pursuing, really? Just because he wants to play doesn't make him a player. I'm asking because I haven't the slightest idea how his numbers translate to MLB numbers. He'll be 28 next year. We really don't have any kind of history with Korean hitters being successful outside of Choo. With that said, when numbers start floating around we'll see if he's really a guy worth having.
  2. I understood passing on Abreu because we already had Rizzo; I will not be as understanding if we pass on him or prospects that may or may not play 3B and may or may not be successful once they get to the bigs.
  3. 5 pages of nothing but bitching and moaning. i get enough of this dealing with the major league team. The minor league forum is supposed to be where I go to get away form this pessimistic nonsense.
  4. Can we just dfa Russell and bring up Rosscup up please?
  5. hahah on the 100th birthday of Wrigley. It couldn't be anymore perfect.
  6. Haha, there is the 4th botched double play of the game.
  7. I don't mind a history lesson, but this is really getting drawn out.
  8. Castro has been straight up ridiculous defensively.
  9. Hammel might bring back a really nice piece around the deadline. One thing is for sure, Theo can find some ridiculous value in pitchers.
  10. The same could be said for Alex Wood whom he was facing. 8 IP 4H 1ER 11K 0BB.
  11. Rizzo is at 15BB to 15K at this point. I thought he'd be near the major league lead, but somehow Jose Bautista already has 24 walks. That's good for a 27.2% walk rate.
  12. My Underwood excitement is rising.
  13. I would absolutely love a Zimmer+Herrera deal. Though it's probably not realistic to expect a reliever from their active roster.
  14. Not that it would ever be done in division, but the Pirates match up extremely well with the Cubs. Snag both Glasnow and Kingham plus another guy like Jin De Jhang and I would be pretty happy.
  15. Wow the asking price really dropped out. Last I heard they were asking the Orioles for Rodriguez. I thought they might have landed a better prospect.
  16. Why was Bonifacio positioned on the wrong side of the bag?
  17. Oh that's right, Cingrani tomorrow. I'll put the over/under at 8Ks.
  18. They're really going to have to Cob this one up in order to avoid scoring a run here. Incoming bunt.
  19. Further proof that the "celebrity" stretch needs to be put out to pasture.
  20. I almost hate to jinx it, but what's the MLB record for most consecutive innings held scoreless? If the Cubs manage to get shut out again today you'd have to think they were getting in the neighborhood.
  21. Samardzija gets hit an ER that isn't his fault.
  22. It's truly amazing that the Padres and Astros have played two more games than the Cubs and still some how scored 2 fewer runs. It's hard to believe there is a level of bad lower than this.
  23. Cubs have now scored 1 run during the 25 innings Samardzija has pitched this season.
  24. 21 innings without a run and shut out 4 times already. You could make quite a bit of money playing those daily leagues and streaming whichever pitcher is facing this team.
