Is this something that we can take advantage of now that Laroche is hurt and out 8-10 weeks? Maybe we could grab Inge from Detroit for Wuertz or other bullpen help and then spin Inge to LA for Hu? Edit: ( I know the WSox aren't involved in this scenario, but didn't want to start a new thread about Hu)

Is there any way the Cubs would sign So Taguchi to help Fukudome in the bigs? -- John K., Orland Park, Ill. Piniella said he spoke Spanish with Ichiro when they were together in Seattle. The Cubs do plan on providing an interpreter if needed, and will do whatever they can to make him comfortable in Chicago. I don't think adding another Japanese player is necessary. Spanish?

We don't need him! Our new right fielder is hitting 1.000 :roll: Seriously, I think he's been out for most of the year hasn't he? I think he had elbow surgery but if everything is ok, I'd definitely take a look at him.

For those who care Matt Harrison is out of the deal due to shoulder problems: Per Ken Rosenthal: "The Braves are still offering catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Class A shortstop Elvis Andrus for Teixeira, and they gave the Rangers a list of young pitchers to consider as Harrison's replacement. The list does not include left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes, but otherwise the talks remain fluid. It is even conceivable that the deal could be expanded from a 3-for-1 to a 4-for-2."

From mlb.com: "Braves: Talks between the Braves and Rangers about a trade for Teixeira appear to be at a standstill, with Atlanta reluctant to improve its offer of Matt Harrison, Elvis Andrus and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Atlanta is also looking to improve its starting pitching and its bullpen and is trying to find a reliever with success against left-handed batters."

Pure conjecture but maybe, huge maybe the 3rd team is the Braves......we end up with Jr and Salty. The Braves get the much needed pitching in Arroyo maybe Gallagher from us. Reds get Murton or Pie? The Braves would still have the prospects to grab Tex from Texas. If not the Braves who could the 3rd team be?

Found this on a braves message board: "Was reading the forum earlier and someone from the NY Post said the Rangers were trying to move Laird and Felix Pie could be part of the deal. What if it was a 3-team trade between us, Chicago, and Texas.....I tried to come up with something but doubt it would work. Doesn't seem like Texas would be getting all it could with trading Gagne and Teixeira in the same deal. Atlanta gets: 1B Mark Texieira from Texas CF Felix Pie from Chicago Chicago gets: CL Erig Gagne from Texas C Gerald Laird from Texas OF Jordan Schafer from Atlanta Texas gets: C Jarrod Saltalamacchia from Atlanta SS Elvis Andrus from Atlanta SP Matt Harrison from Atlanta LF Matt Murton from Chicago" Just thought it was funny because we get completely ripped off in that deal and shows how much everyone overvalues their own prospects.

Veal, Marshall & Soto to Atl for Salty-----Salty starts with Kendall as back-up, DFA Hill. Jones or Eyre + prospect + ton of cash for Greinke Greinke takes Marshall's place, otherwise we have Gallagher, Mateo, or Guzman for the 5th spot? Unrealistic much? Greinke and Z could compare crazy notes.
