  1. According to the Washington Post, it appears that Manny would accept a trade to Baltimore: "If the Orioles decide to trade Tejada there certainly would be much interest, particularly from the Boston Red Sox, who seem eager to acquire the shortstop. A large obstacle to a trade with the Red Sox was removed on yesterday when a source close to outfielder Manny Ramirez said he would "absolutely" accept a trade to Baltimore." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/10/AR2005121001274.html

  3. any thoughts? Babyface and Opie?
  4. Does anybody else think that this is just a ploy by Miggie to energize the O's front office?
  5. I wouldn't be totally opposed to that........if for some reason the Walker and Wood for Zito and Mench trade goes through it may be an interesting thought. But then again, I think it's more likely that Neifi will win the triple crown :D
  6. I hope you're right Mizzou, it just makes me nervous considering the Cubs' lack of honesty in the past when it comes to their starting pitchers.
  7. Is anyone else worried about this? From Cubs.com: "The Cubs' starting pitching is likely set. Carlos Zambrano, Mark Prior, Greg Maddux, Jerome Williams and Glendon Rusch all are candidates for the rotation as well as youngsters Angel Guzman and Rich Hill. Kerry Wood will be coming back from arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder, and wasn't expected to be ready by Opening Day but is progressing well in his rehab. "I'm happy with what we have but at the same time if things got redirected and we could add another starter, I wouldn't rule that out," Hendry said of his pitching staff. "If we have what we have, I'm OK with that." Zambrano and Prior are obviously set, but rounding out the rotation with Maddux, Williams, and Rusch? Also I didn't realize Kerry wouldn't be ready by opening day.
  8. Well we better get Furcal.......... From Cubs.com: "If Furcal decides to stay with the Braves, the Cubs would start Neifi Perez or Ronny Cedeno at short next year, but then the leadoff spot is still open." And we all know who Dusty will start.
  9. Here's some more info Rock: http://www.rotoauthority.com/2005/10/daisuke_matsuza_1.html http://www.rotoauthority.com/2005/08/mlb_deep_2006_f.html Here's a link to a video of his unique pitch, the "gyroball" http://www.rotoauthority.com/2005/10/daisuke_matsuza.html A better video is here: http://thejuice.baseballtoaster.com/archives/181026.html It seems Will Carroll has taught a high school kid, Joey Niezer how to use it effectively I think Raisin is right, I doubt the Cubs would take a gamble money-wise.
  10. What about Daisuke Matsuzaka?
