  1. I looked at the forum, and my first thought was how the hell have there been seven pages wasted on Soriano. Needless to say this thread didn't disappoint. I kept waiting for a JFK pic to pop up, well done. Trail of Tears was my favorite by far.
  2. I would just buy cheap season tickets. Then put them all on Stub Hub. I'm guessing there isn't much of a secondary market in KC, which is where my plan hits a bit of a financial snag. For the Cardinals, Yankees, Red Sox and Twins series I would guess you could sell all those for a little bit of profit. I would also scalp off the HR Derby tickets, mostly because I find the Derby to be one of the most boring things ever. There are a lot of people that will pay a lot of money for them, especially if they are in the outfield. Dump your future game tickets. This seems like the surest way to secure tickets if you can afford the cost. It all depends on how much the experience is worth to you. Otherwise explore all of your network I'm sure there are plenty of corporate tickets floating around, but unless you are a great customer or an executive I would expect to at least have to pay face for them. I had a friend get offered tickets to this years game for 350 a piece, which she said was cheap. I heard that tickets were going for around 700 though.
  3. Illinois has one of these pre-tournament era championships. There is no recognition of it at Assembly Hall or the Ubben Complex. I also find it interesting that the NCAA tournament was less significant than the NIT for a long time, yet the winners of the NCAA earned the right to hang a National Title banner.
  4. I'm trying to get outside my comfort zone and play some new courses. However my wallet won't allow me to play the best public tracks. Anyways I am looking for some suggestions that are moderatly priced in the Western Suburbs. Also I am moving to St. Louis next month, so if anyone has any suggestions of where to play down there I would love to hear them.
  5. I'd love to try to make a witty joke about the Cubs predicament, but I am just too worn out from telling myself this season was going to end up ok. Just another shot to the body by the World Heavyweight Champion Injury Bug.
  6. How can someone not like Phil Mickelson? He's the Jimi Hendrix of golf. Jimi was left handed and learned to play a right handed guitar upside down. Phil is right handed and golfs left handed because he would destroy the field if he actually played right handed. It's hard for me to put into words. Just one of those athletes I don't like. Plus I hate lefty golfers, watching them swing makes me want to vomit.
  7. We only got one day at full health. I really hate this year. Just win Cubs.
  8. OK, this is just getting to be cruel. This team just doesn't want to get sold.
  9. Jennings of those you just mentioned, no injury problems, will be in a passing offense until 2012, young, and throws up big TD numbers.
  10. I really dislike Phil Mickleson, but from a life standpoint this is just awful. I can't imagine having this happen to me, and hope his family gets healthy.
  11. This is great and unexpected news for a Monday. Hopefully Ricketts does not turn out to be a total turd. I am thrilled that the Cubs are no longer being held hostage by Zell.
  12. I am thrilled A-Ram is back. This weekend was a great start, now lets make today the first day of a happier second half to the season.
  13. Fox has earned his spot. I hope Lou gets him as many at bats as possible, and I hope Jim keeps him in Chicago
  14. sweet i love winning, lets do it again tomorrow
  15. The result wasnt pretty but that was a good at bat
  16. they should cast kendall in those geico ads. "so easy a caveman can do it"
  17. I liked the blue patriotic hats last year, but the red this year is just awful to look at. I think mlb has gotten a little ridiculous with its on field promotions.
  18. Always nice to face Braun with no one on base
  19. I love Blanco's defense, he is the perfect late game defensive replacement up the middle. Especially with the defensive quality of our middle infielders. He needs to have a spot on this team. I agree Miles needs to go, he is a black hole of suck who offers nothing offensively or defensively to this team.
  20. These next 11 games are huge. We will either make up some ground or fall flat on our faces. I have no confidence that this team will continue to tread water over this stretch.
  21. Please please please please please let this be the end of the aaron miles era :beg:
  22. Both, I think. I think they'll go to UK, and it all smells a little shady to me. Since he couldn't sign an LOI, the Henrys are free to go wherever they want as long as they haven't set foot in a classroom. The prevailing opinion is that he agreed to go to KU assuming Meeks was going to return from UK. When Meeks stayed in, he and Cal started talking again, and now he's thinking UK again. I think the dad has been drumming up controversy to smokescreen his way out of his commitment and make his family look like the victim. And that's what pisses me off the most. Especially since he and his wife went to KU, and the dad played there. Crappy way to treat your own alma mater. It's a bummer, because it likely takes us out of the running for the national championship. And it's not hard to believe Cal has been angling for this, beginning with when he ran off Pilgrim to open a scholly. At this point, though, I just want it to be over. I'm sick of reading about this and hearing all the whining--from the Henrys, the KU fans, the UK fans. The KU board is awful right now-- like 10 times worse than an NSBB game thread where we're losing to StL. Ugh. Welcome to the Eric Gordon Sr. School of Public Relations
