    That was a really good article. I did a lot of the travel baseball stuff when I was in high school, and part of the reason I gave it up was because of all the work that went into it and the weekends that were lost just weren't worth it to me... I definitely didn't think I was going to be drafted, so I wanted to hang out with friends, etc instead. Hope this kid does well, though. I am sure he will. If only he could get on the Cubs :-))

    is green font always necessary? Anyway, I talked to him again, and he heard wrong. They arent close to a deal, but they are the favorites to get him. Yea, I figured all CAPS was just as good as the green font. But I can certainly edit my initial statement so to avoid the confusion in the future...

    Switch to DISH and get CSN Chicago... I avoid Comcast like the PLAGUE now... I'm from Brownsburg BTW... Landlord required either Brighthouse or Time Warner in the lease, and since Time Warner doesn't service the Indianapolis area I was left with only one option.

    Steroids are NOT ILLEGAL in MOST of the Latin American countries. Pot is not illegal in Amsterdam. And if you bring either of those things back from those two places... you are breaking the law. I completely see what you are saying, though, and am not disagreeing. I was trying to tie both points together. You could, as a baseball player travel to the Dominican, do your offseason Sammy Sosa 'workout' and come back to the states. You haven't broken ANY American laws. However, in the eyes of the USOC, the NBA, the NHL, the NFL, and now MLB, you have cheated and broken the rules. THAT is why MLB MUST put rules in place. Professional athletes care squat about morals when big contracts are involved. Something enforceable has to be in place. Ok, I follow better now. btw, love the sig. :lol:

    Weren't steroids illegal in the U.S. in the early 90s? If so, why would MLB have to have a rule in place prohibiting the use of an illegal drug? It seems to me it would be like my boss making a rule that I cannot kill my co-workers...

    The As gave up Carlos Gonzalez, Greg Smith and Houston Street for Holliday this past offseason. I'd be surprised if Beane would take less than what he gave for Holliday. Do we have the pieces to match what the Rockies obtained? If you're asking me, I would say we do HAVE the pieces. However, I am not one that believes we should utilize resources on acquiring Matt Holliday.

    So what is the difference between each type of cheating? when you are apart of an era of players who are demolishing records and pretty much make up almost all of the core of "superstar" talent, i think that makes a huge difference over the cheating in the past... So you're fine with cheating to a point. What's the exact cutoff point? fine with cheating to a point eh? interestingly enough, i don't remember typing those words But you did separate cheating in the past from cheating today.
