I don't know if this is anywhere else but the phillies are throwing pedro at us and putting Moyer in the pen. I don't know what to think of this. Pedro is going to be starting on Wednesday for the espn game, coincidence?

Hill is a better backup catcher than any other backups that are available. Gregg Zaun is light years better. Hill shouldn't be in the pros. I did not know zaun was available. Zaun is a better offensive catcher but Koyie is better defensively. Hill throws out 41% of runners while Zaun throws out 26% and koyie's RF/9 is 8.39 while Zaun's is 6.53. Koyie is a MUCH better defensive catcher while zaun is better offensively. If i had to choose between a good offensive backup or a good defensive backup I would take the better defensive one every time.

:?: Did you miss the memo? This year's theme was to get more left handed because the RH pitching staff in LA made the Cubs look like clowns. I think any pitching staff would have made the Cubs look like clowns for as poorly as they played this past offseason. Hendry gets these team philosophies in his head. They're all ridiculous, and he never sticks with them for more than a year, anyway. Do we still want guys who can catch the ball? Next offseason he'll forget all about being more left-handed and will be all about guys with speed or something. Speed doesn't slump, dude
