  1. I do, if it means CC has a chance to go to the Cubs... so are you rooting for them?
  2. when you face tougher teams, its harder to put up better stats. a fairly easy assumption i thought could be made about the point it was making
  3. i still don't understand why you guys think its that lopsided. aram consistently puts up league-worst RF and zone ratings at third base. over the last three years crede hasn't exactly been the slouch at the plate you all make him out to be. he won a silver slugger on '06, had a very very bad injury last year which required back surgery, and has bounced back tremendously this year and is putting up another impressive year at the plate. and i'll probably get flamed for this, but he also plays in the AL while doing so in a division that has been the best during previous years. heck, in 2006, they won 90 games and finished third in their division! they would have taken a dump all over our division had they been in it. aram's ops has gone down 4 of the last 5 years, with the year it didn't go down, it went up .002 alright i'll get to the point. is a-ram better? its ARGUABLE. it could go either way depending on what stats you find more important its not like we are comparing pujols to mike jacobs like some of you guys make it seem.
  4. I cant see how the astros would have to pay him after reading this. i also dont see how more teams dont get out of more contracts with this clause. on the "first-class physical condition" thing, do you think LA could get out of Andruw Jones' contract if that was a clause in it? dude's fat
  5. this problem can be solved very easily. an asterisk. list the effort of the team as a no-hitter, but list that the team lost and only pitched 8 innings because they were the road team. baseball's rules pretty much say that the game was regulation length, because instances where the home team doesn't come up to bat in the 9th are very frequent, especially this year! are they saying that over half of the games played this year aren't full length games?
  6. howd the cubs score today? swinging bunt, base hit, double play thats cheaper than a base hit up the middle followed by a home run
  7. i wonder if he was asked a provocative question or if he just mouthed off about wrigley
  8. derek jeter ain't even the best shortstop in new york, let alone the game of baseball. hell, hes not even the second best in his own damn city (reyes and a-rod)
  9. anyone think corey patterson would have been a lot better if he didn't get injured in '03? he was having a helluva year
  10. i read in an article that the indians have no interest in dealing sabathia even if they are out of contention. The indians say that they are very confident they can resign him.
  11. i think the ball hit the top of the wall but also made contact with the concrete behind the wall which is why it came back into play. it would be impossible for a ball to bounce backwards on its first bounce on a flat surface
  12. maybe this is all part of an elaborate plan to murder edmonds. I bet they plan on staging an "accident" in the clubhouse where only cubs players are present.
  13. lance berkman is having a ridiculous year so far. did anyone see this kind of production coming from tejada? i thought he would suck ass after coming of the juice and its about time uggla heated up i have him in fantasy =]
  14. well this mcready girl appears to have problems obeying the law and being truthful, so i would take this report with a grain of salt.
  15. The Brewers have looked flatter and tireder. However, Cub killer Mike Cameron is coming back, where he'll hit 4 home runs in the series and go 9 for 14 before fizzling out and finishing the season at .257 with 15 HRs, 12 of which will come against The Cubs. He is definitely a white sox killer. look at his lines vs Cubs - 39 games: 8HR 17RBI .244/.344/.504 vs White Sox - 38 games: 10HR 31 RBI .338/.462/.662 btw his career lines are .251/.341/.445
  16. Thanks. Math is not my thing and neither is not being lazy. There has been an epidemic of quotes of: AVG/OBP/OPS and it's driving me slightly crazy. Oh, and welcome to the board. thanks! for the record, I think joe crede is a great ball player who is overrated by sox fans and underrated by cubs fans. he is one of the best defensive third basemen in the game, and we saw in '06 what he can do when healthy (30HR 90RBI, and was on pace for 40/100 through a good portion of the season)
  17. hes really slugging 1.500. just look at it. 3HR's in 10 at bats, thats 12 bases in 10 at bats which would be a slg of over 1.000 with just those three hits. he has another double and a single giving him 15 bases in 10 at bats edit: he's OPSing over 2.000 in those situations.
  18. well just look at his stats in these situations close and late: 5/10 3HR 8RBI 2BB .500/.583/1.500 tie game: 7/16 2HR 9RBI 1BB .438/.444/.875 granted, its a small sample size for both, but its not going to be that big of a sample size for anybody because its less than a month into the season.
  19. that IS the best catch i have ever seen.
