  1. I don't think so. It was just a procedural move to allow the Cubs to bring up Womack without derostering somebody else. It won't delay Prior's return (since he's already missed the 60 days).
  2. I'll lock this one to avoid confusion with multiple polls on the same topic.
  3. It can get confusing with two new threads with basically the same poll, so I'll lock this one and leave open the one with responses.

    WEEK 8

VERY slight (1/2 point). Last year there was a week when I lost by less than a point. This could be a repeat for one of us. Today will probably decide it. You have quite a few starts to my none. If I can hang close, it will be a really tight finish! Marshall did his part to help me today. Too bad the Cubs hitters were their usual pathetic, incompetent, lifeless selves so that I only got a QS from Marshall, not a win.
  5. Two top draft picks with losing records and ERAs of over 5 starting today (Brownlie and Johnson). Today must be What Could Have Been Day. :D

    WEEK 8

VERY slight (1/2 point). Last year there was a week when I lost by less than a point. This could be a repeat for one of us.
  7. Micah still leads, but its too close for comfort. Micah has 178 votes (30%), Pence has 175 votes (29%). Nobody else has 100 votes.
  8. And how would you know that? :D
  9. Micah still leads, 154 to 135.
  10. Poor Diamond & Slugger is now shown at 0%.
  11. OK, let's stop getting personal here.
  12. From 2% to over 60% in an hour and a half.
  13. He now has over half the votes. I remember a few years ago Top Prospect Alert had a showdown between Andy Sisco and Chris Honel, and they pulled it when they realized people were stuffing the ballot box by voting multiple times. It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens here. It is very easy to keep voting, by hitting the back button and hitting Submit again.
  14. Ribbee is now ahead of 2nd and 3rd place combined, quickly approaching 50%. :D
  15. I know that he went to IU, but I thought he was from Pittsburgh. I could be wrong here though. Maybe he was. I'm not sure about him actually being from Indiana; I may have been wrong about that part.
  16. Didn't take long for Ribbee to go from 2% to 38%.
  17. Cuban is from Indiana and graduated from IU. I think his midwest background might be one reason for the interest in him. Besides, just look at the first three letters of his last name. It's a natural.
  18. There's an interesting poll on the Chattanooga Lookouts web site. The poll is for the most recognized mascot in the Southern League North division. Looie the Lookout is currently leading (surprise, surprise). Muddy the Mudcat (Carolina) is close behind, followed by Homer the Polecat (Huntsville). Ribbee and Diamond & Slugger (Tennessee) are trailing the field, each with only 2% of the vote. Let's correct that. :D
  19. Micah's now in the lead with 143 votes; Pence is second with 120. I wonder if cubbiefan has been voting. :D
  20. MiLB.com's home page has a poll on who will be the first minor leaguer to hit 20 home runs this year. In addition to Micah, other choices are Hunter Pence (Corpus Christi), Gaby Sanchez (Greensboro), Terry Evans (Palm Beach), Steven Pearce (Hickory), and Scott Seabol (Albuquerque). Micah is currently third in the voting with 36 votes, behind Pence (running away with 94) and Seabol (42).
  21. I believe he's managing one of the Nationals' minor league teams.
  22. It's a horrible thing. Two straight losing seasons for a team thought to be on the brink of a long run as a contender is unacceptable and indefensible. Somebody has to be held accountable for this mess.
  23. I think they just wore out in 2004. They played longer than allowed under the CBA without an off-day at the end of the year due to rescheduling games because of the hurricane in Florida. I can forgive them for what happened in 2004, but not in 2005 or this year. Bye bye Hendry; bye bye Dusty. Yes, wishful thinking.

    WEEK 8

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Crawford today! I am. :D I'd be even more a fan of his if he were a Cub. At least until Dusty and Clines do what they do best and ruin him.

    WEEK 8

HUGE game for Crawford today. 5 for 5, a home run, 2 RBIs, 5 runs scored, 4 stolen bases, 19 fantasy points. At this moment I'm 1.3 points behind Fuzzy Logistics for highest score of the week. It will come down some after deductions for total bases allowed by Maddux, however.
