    Two 50+ point days in a row for me, but it doesn't look like enough to make up for an awful early part of the week. At least it looks like a couple of my hitters (Peralta and McPherson) are starting to come around.

    If Cedeno and Marshall can be included, why can't Hill and Guzman? The only reason for saying they can't be included would be due to the amount of time they've already spent in the majors, which would also rule out Cedeno and Marshall. I think Patterson and Fox would be the first ones I'd include other than the ones you have ranked 1 through 10. Fox especially is really coming on this year (Patterson was already highly regarded after last year). Another intriguing possibility based on the progress he's made this year is Hoffpauir. His batting average is lower since his promotion to Iowa, but he has 5 home runs in 95 at-bats in addition to his earlier explosion at West Tenn. And I think 95 at-bats is a bit too few to make any conclusions about the batting average.

    I'll hopefully get a chance to see him pitch in August, when the Jaxx play at Carolina. Since that is a five-game series, he'd almost certainly be in line to start one of those games. Good thing that series is scheduled for later in the year as opposed to before his promotion, since that's the only series they play in Carolina this year.

    If you live that close you need to actually do it, not just "think about" it. :D I'm in a similar situation. I live about an hour from the Carolina Mudcats' stadium, so whenever the Djaxx play there I always try to go to at least one game in the series (frequently more than that). Unfortunately, this year they only play one series at Carolina (five games in August). Last year they had three series at Carolina. I don't know why there are two fewer series this year than last (especially since they're in the same division).

    Neither. His new nickname should be GlenDone, as in he's done as a Cubs' starter.

    The first game I attended was Cubs vs. Mets, June 23, 1970. Cubs led early, 4-1 after three. The Mets scored 7 in the top of the 4th to take an 8-4 lead. Cubs got one in the bottom of the 4th, then scored 5 in the 5th to take a 10-8 lead. No more scoring until the top of the 9th, when the Mets scored 2 to tie the game at 10. Top of the 10th, the Mets take the lead 12-10 on a 2-run homer by Duffy Dyer. The Cubs fail to score in the bottom of the 10th and lose 12-10. We missed the end of the game; we had to leave after the 9th to get back home because I had a scout meeting that evening.

    Not necessarily. If Prior returns Sunday, somebody would have to be removed from the rotation anyway; that could be Rusch.

    The moral of the story is simply that a start by Rusch is a guaranteed, automatic loss. By starting Rusch, the Cubs' mismanagement in effect forfeited the game before it even started.

    I conceded today's game before it even started. With Rusch starting, everybody could see the result a mile away. Everybody except our moron manager, that is. With today's performance, I think even Dusty, as idiotic as he is, would have to recognize that Rusch cannot start any more. Somebody has to be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Prior. The logical (in other words, not what the Cubs will do) move would be to admit a mistake and get rid of Rusch.

    May as well start thinking about Saturday's game and look forward to Marmol's second start. By starting Rusch, the Cubs have already conceded defeat on Friday.

    Gaetti doesn't have a 0.00 career ERA; that's why I mentioned Dascenzo specifically and not Gaetti or Larry Biittner. :D
