    I picked Memphis solely because I don't have an interest in either team (nothing against them, just nothing for them), so I'm pulling for the team that's never won a championship before. I miss the way it's been in most recent years, where the Cubs' Opening Day and the NCAA championship game were the same day. I always enjoyed watching the Cubs in the afternoon and the NCAA championship at night.

    That's no fun, especially when you don't have to get up early the next morning.

    Last year the Cardinals and Giants stayed at the Ritz-Carlton (312-266-1000) and all other visiting teams stayed at the Westin (312-943-7200). No way of knowing whether that's still true this year since the Cubs stopped providing hotel information.

    This one is REALLY far fetched, since Montanez isn't in the organization anymore (last I knew he was in the Orioles' system).

    It happens every night to me. Last night I think was the first night in a week that I was on NSBB at that specific time. So it easily could be every night, and I just didn't notice it.

    I just got it again at exactly 3:00 A.M. Eastern time. Last time I had it was exactly a week ago, so I don't know if it's an every Sunday issue.

    I blame Mother Nature for my loss this week. If the Cardinals-Rockies game hadn't been postponed the other day Francis' negative points would have counted, and that would have counted as 1 of HBC's 7 starts for the week. Yes, I'm conceding, since I don't have any remaining starts for tomorrow.

    It looks like Edwin Jackson may finally be living up to his promise. He had a very good start today (for my bench, because I had to choose between him and Harang for my final start this week). I got him several years ago from Tim in the very first trade I made after joining the league, then gave up on him a couple of years later when he looked like a total bust. Fortunately I gave him another chance by picking him up last weekend when I cut Lieber due to his not making the Cubs' rotation.

    you're thinking of NFL Sunday Ticket which is exclusive to DirecTV I think he's actually talking about last year, when DirecTV nearly got a monopoly on Extra Innings because cable companies and Dish Network refused MLB's initial demands (I believe the main sticking point was the issue of carrying the MLB Network on basic tier). If I recall most cable companies worked out last-minute deals to carry Extra Innings but Dish didn't.

    I just got my media guide today. Unfortunately Karen is right; for whatever reason they didn't provide that information this year. I'll move this back to Baseball Discussions and sticky it for the season as usual because most of the information from last year is probably still accurate; it doesn't seem to change much from year to year. What's mainly missing is the AL teams the Cubs visit.

    In previous years I got that information from the Cubs' media guide. I don't have mine yet for this year (I've ordered it, but haven't received it yet). However, Karen Mac mentioned in the hotel thread (which is in the FAQ forum) that she didn't see that information this year. I'll check when I receive my copy, but it seems that information may not be available this year.
