    Hendry should have signed him prior to the 2003 season. If he had we very well might have won the pennant. I had heard he wanted to sign with the Cubs. Stupid Jimbo.

    So, Greg chose working with the Padres over the Cubs.... Well hell, then offer him more money. Offer him more incentives. The only uniform Mad Dog should be wearin is a Cub uni. I think if Maddux chose to come back, I think he would be an effective middle (long) reliever.

    Missed the very beginning of the rebroadcast so I wanted to get up early and tape the entire game BUT I see the MLB Network got their schedule screwed up again. It was supposed to start at 7:30am (CST) but I'm still having to watch Randy Johnson when he was with the D'backs. I also noticed that MLB network doesn't give a contact number for programming on their website, so that people can complain...probably a smart move.

    Although like many of you, i just wish we would have traded him last year but what i don't get is, if hendry wanted to trade hill all along (at least the last few months) then why not include him in the the pie deal. Why does he have to trade rich hill in a seperate deal-- especially to the same team?

    It's true that we'll never be able to root for Hank White again but maybe we can make up our own name for Paul Bako, like Pablo... What's Bako in Spanish? What a minute, I bet my dad would know.

    Peavy just needs to stay his ground. If he pulls a Griffey Jr. in his trade demand to be a Cub then Jake Peavy will be traded to the Cubs before we know it. **Rememember that Griffey Jr. threatened to sit out the season (if I'm not mistaken) unless the Mariners traded him to the Reds. I can't remember who Seattle got for him but I don't think it was much.

    I like everyone else was hoping that Cuban would be the next owner of the Cubs but the more I learn about the type of person Tom Ricketts is, the happier I am that he was the one,selected for his bid. I'm sure it's already been mentioned but besides the fact that he grew up next to Wrigley Field (and of course is a Cub fan), he also apparently met his wife in the bleachers. He has been quoted to say that he wants nothing more than the Cubs to win a championship --something that Cub fans deserve.

    On an interview with FOX News, Cuban said just the opposite. (on the subject of the 700 billion bailout bill) The reporter asked Cuban "whether or not this was a good time to buy a major league baseball team". Cuban smiling, answered "it's always a good time to buy a good major league team".

    Actually I was hoping that Lou was going to reel off a few tirades, considering how bad the team was playing. That might have fired them up. We should have won Game 3 but all those damn errors. Man!
