  1. the writer for that article calls it "Soldier Fields". ughh... I wonder how he pronounces "IllinoiS"
  2. Did we? I feel like most still recognized that TB was a trash pass D that year. Like it was promising because shredding trash Ds is what good QBs do, but it was still obvious Mitch played way down to good competition too. I thought that game showed his promise, but he we expected more games with 3-4 TD's then we got from him after it.
  3. Trea Turner is some kind of freak
  4. that would be the most backwards way to approach this: ie behavioral change ad nasuem in lieu of a shot. why change your life and everyday activities instead of just getting two pin pricks? In a way, that imagined approach makes Rizzo out to be at least as stupid as being anti-VAX The bold is a complete fallacy. when the vaccines were coming online, I dont think it was unusual to look at them as the tool that would help to bring normalcy back to the world. In fact, they were advertised as being that
  5. There was some stuff last year (I think in the Athletic?) about how they actually were really great about things. Doing things like choosing hotels with outdoor areas they could take over, etc. Part of it was also that the team leaders like Rizzo, Heyward, etc. were part of enforcement in the early part of the year when less of the protocols we're mandatory. So while they have been doofuses a out the shot they were a big part of last year's efforts. And the team did have a small outbreak early this year. It's just that it nabbed guys in the bullpen we don't care about like Brandon Workman and Dan Winkler. Honestly, that's the only way where I can squint and Rizzo doesn't look like a complete doof. He was probably all in on the behavioral protocols to keep people healthy, and it sounds like he was a big leader along those lines. Guy likely would have preferred to keep doing that, figuring it would be enough, but he was wrong. that would be the most backwards way to approach this: ie behavioral change ad nasuem in lieu of a shot. why change your life and everyday activities instead of just getting two pin pricks? 7. Wood, Rizzo in Cubs
  8. up until here I was thinking "of course imb would be so horsefeathering stupid to post horsefeathers like this but then i read this and think i like the guy weirdly enough and this is absolute proof why
  9. wow, i dont remember him but sucks his career ended that way RIP
  10. I am too. He's helping our draft slot
  11. COVID? COVID hit EVERY team
  12. eh, I'm not toooo worried about injuries this early this year. If this was Fields' second year, I would be.
  13. you guys, you know who IS a patent lawyer? GR I PROMISE you he had nothing to do with this, but if he had 100% props horsefeathers Cleveland
  14. I'd give them ea $100 mil a year for 2 years and tell them to do their best and horsefeathers the Ricketts. They can afford it
  15. I remember calling it "stealing first" but only in a joking way
  16. Could it be that Hoyer wants to create his team? Wipe away Theos guys for the sake of his own legacy?
  17. It was the type of run I thought he would be capable of a few more times in his Cubs tenure, honestly
  18. Javy did it
  19. As a 2016 Cubs fan? Yes As a Cubs fan who wants win again? No
  20. Nick Foles talking about how a "team has to be great from top-down or they are just mediocre" is rich hey Nick: YOU are mediocre
  21. That's what confusing me, it's literally "flowery"? I feel like I've heard it pronounced "flu-ree" oh, i saw that on my phone and thought it was supposed to be a a snowflake flurry or something
  22. Mark Grace wore #17 for 13 years and had well over 2,000 hits with the Cubs. Obviously Kris Bryant had a much higher peak, but there is something to be said for the consistency and length of contributions from Grace. I think they lay equal claim to the number in Cubs history. horsefeathers Mark Grace I don't have lasting hate towards Grace. For me, he was one of the few bright spots between Maddux and Sosa. But if we are talking about the best representative for the Cubs to wear #17, it wasn't him. It was Bryant.
  23. That's a lot closer to what I thought, for sure
