  1. It is a big deal to beat GB: they generally are in line to win the division, thus the team to beat. And that's not just because we've had 35 QBs, it's because they've been insanely lucky going back to back w/HoF QBs
  2. I'm still waiting for all these personnel moves by Nagy and Pace that will undoubtedly improve the offense, to actually you know, improve the offense
  3. You're being far too hard on the wave. The chop is fucked up, the wave is just lame
  4. I don't know how many Bears/Packers games I've seen where one or two plays flips it in our favor, but we still lose. It's usually JUST before or during a good run. That's great, but I just want to beat the horsefeathers out of GB just a few times. Hopefully, Fields and the pass rush is better later in December.
  5. I agree with Sox fans in this respect: It's far easier to hate this team then it is to love it
  6. so, yeah, urlacher is a jerk and olin obviously can be too but this was still really entertaining. i'd recommend for anyone (pretty much everyone here) who was a big fan of this team during the lovie years. Yea. It's interesting that the Cardinals left Urlacher that unaccounted for
  7. The only downside to extending passenger rail is the build cost in Seattle: development happens in the vicinity of the stops as soon as a link/extension is built. It provides reliable transportation and the stop will likely never move once built. I don't know that it would be the same in the Chicago metro, but I would guess it would be
  8. its "better" for the City of Chicago (?) That's what I'm thinking. Plus the possible effects it has on the surrounding area on the south side of Chicago, an area which many Chicagoans never visit. But if I had to guess, gentrification around a stadium doesn't have the effect that you'd hope it would have. The university of Minnesota did a study about 15 years after the Metrodome was built on the actual economic effect that publicly funded stadiums have on their immediate surroundings and found that they dont have positive economic effects, they can actually kill neighborhoods that being said, stadiums aren't developed the way they were in the early 1980's. We aren't going to tear down blocks and blocks of older buildings to build a concrete and teflon stadium with no windows. And effort can be made to develop the rest of the property to include things that the South Chicago neighborhoods actually need, like urban farms, appropriately sized retail (everything from the gambling and bar outfits the McCaskeys likley want to small scale mom/pop venues), etc. 500 acres provides a ton of opportunity and if planned correctly could offer the City a ton of benefit. just as long as they actually cleaned up the benzene in the ground water..so to speak
  9. How on earth is that better than Arlington Heights? its "better" for the City of Chicago (?)
  10. interesting editorial; some here have mentioned the steelworks site
  11. That's one of the benefits of being old, I legit remember when the Bears dominated this rivalry. I'm old enough to remember the Packers (Bears) in the 70s and 80s as well. Being in a household filled with Bears fans, the 80s were especially tough. The Bears absolutely dominated the Packers, although I did get to see in person one of the Packer wins at SF (pre-Favre). I don't know how some of those 1985-1989 Bears teams lost to anyone. They couldn't keep McMahon healthy, but it wasn't until Don Majkowski we could always beat the lowly packers. I still say he crossed the l-o scrimmage!
  12. Didn't Walter Payton's ghost block a game winning field goal? I think this one broke a pretty long Packers winning streak over the Bears. yes, this is that game. WP died on Nov 1, 6 days prior
  13. I thought this as well...so out probably is the right call
  14. still one of my favorites in the last 25 years, Nov 7, 1999 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199911070gnb.htm
  15. Did Boston just get massively robbed? great throw by Keirmaier, but he was safe. His hand never comes completely off third, I thought his palm is on it the hole time..
  16. Also, horsefeathers the packers. Let's pull a big upset
  17. The worst thing about living on the West Coast is I don't get to see a lot of Bears games. I've been reading the comments about the game although I listen to it. If you told me in July we would be 3-2 at about this point in the season I would be happy. If you told me that Justin fields would be the starting quarterback at this point I would be happy. Guys I'm happy
  18. Kris Bryant.
  19. horsefeathers Chucky Hopefully, Fields hangs 30+ on his shitty defense
  20. Jeff Fisher era Rams probably Uh I was trying to think of a franchise that wasted good QB play. Bears 2009-2012?
  21. I'm not go in goto lie, but I was concerned with Nagy
  22. Hush yourself he can do whatever he wants!
  23. THE MAN HAS A DOG NAMED UNO just make him mayor already - seee ya lightfoot
