    Holliday on 15-day DL Tulowitski still out Hawpe on 15-day DL Vizcaino on Dl Barmes on DL Holliday, Hawpe, and Barmes all just went on DL last week too. Might be able to get some distance on the Cards in this series .

    Any one else vote for Pie just top spite Lou and Hendry? And LOL at Edmonds not only being on the list but being on it for SD. Good I wish they could still claim his services. And I doubt Marmol makes it. If we do indeed get Geo, Soriano, Fukudome, Zambrano and one of either Lee or Dempster the manager isn't going to select another Cub when there are quite a few stellar pitchers this year. Then again Lou could be the manager sine we have the best record and he might take Marmol if he has an open slot not filled by every team must have one rule player.

    They're out of options, so they get a free pass. But he just signed Edmonds. And I don't mind Johnson on the roster for LHP, but it seems stupid for me to say that Pie got booted for not producing when we have gotten no production whatsoever from center field against RHP. that's my problem as well. Pie should have gotten a month straight starting to see if he can produce. Giving him 5 games doesn't give him time to adjust to the faster pitching. The Hill thing as infruiated me from the moment he was pulled. Yes he was walking people but his ERA was still 4.11. He can walk all the people he wants as long as he strikes the next guy out and doesn't allow a run. He has been our most consistent pitcher the last two years and he's yanked 2 weeks into the season when his ERA is still somewhat good??? That makes absolutely no sense.

    Marmol means and helps this team sop much more by being able to pitch when we need a good inning the most or to get others out of jams. Put him in the closing role and you use your most effective pitcher half as much.

    ok now that the game is over I wanted to just come on and see if anyone else was annoyed when Len said "The Cubs hold a 2-1 lead in a game that has been close throughout" in the eighth inning. I thought well no s*** Sherlock. A 2-1 game can be at most a two run lead. It's like an announcer saying its 1-0 in the eighth inning and then immediately following that up by saying its been a pitching duel throughout. I wasn't mad or anything when Len said it but I was like a der de der.

    so to create an arguement here what is the top play of the season so far? My list: 1. Soto IP HR 2. Reed catch (I think it should be possibly catch of the year for all of MLB its Rowand esque) 3. Fukudome HR in opener (would be top but we eventually lost)

    My Boilers gave Michigan a run for their money in the Big Ten Championship. That said i doubt Purdue gets in (got a small chance with 2nd reg. season/tourny finish). With that I will be rooting for Michigan to make some noise because northern teams rarely do thanks to the massive advantage warm weather teams have (they did make a rule change and have a uniform start date so advantage isn't as big now).

    I thought the same thing until I read that his career minor league high is 12 home runs. I would say he can be a solid .300 20 hr guy but doubt he will ever have a 40 hme run season like he is on pace for.
