    With that bullpen, its gotta be hard to find anything funny. Carlos Ma.. Nevermind. Yeah our bullpen sucks, but to make a joke about a 3 year old girl is pretty tasteless, but oh well IMO What you were going to say Carlos Marmol? The guy who has been great all season except for the last couple of weeks. It has to suck that the only guy you can find to bash on our team was a potential all star at one point. I guess that is what you have to do when you are six games back. Even after your great trade, you are 2-4 at home against Colorado and Cincinatti. Since May 17th Marmol has a ERA of 7.18, but keep making stuff up its working for you. 57-38 52-43 It is hard to make that up. And oh by the way, yeah it might be a sham, but I was wrong on the potential all-star, because he actually is an all-star.

    I wouldn't do it. Kemp and Figgins steal a lot of bases so you would lose a lot there.

    Agreed. He certainly has plenty of philosophical flaws (which he may have come around on, actually), but he has put together 3 blockbuster deals over the last 6 years when his team was in serious contention. Prior to his tenure as GM, I can't really remember the Cubs being anywhere near as aggressive. I was fixing to post the official apologize to Hendry thread More importantly, what about the apologize to sweet swingin billy williams thread? We definitely should apologize to him. He got on the phone with Hendry and made the deal happen.

    The biggest difference is, when we signed Edmonds. I thought it was a bad move for the team, because he would suck thus making our team worse. Favre is a million times better then Grossman or Orton, and would make the Bears better.

    I'm a huge Packers fan. But I'm sure most of you are Bears fans. So my question to you is, if Favre decides he wants to come back, and the Packers release him. Would you want the Bears to sign him to be their QB?

    I don't think there's any question. Up 5 runs and he's at 76 pitches. Let him pitch another couple and save the bullpen. I didn't realize he was only at 76 pitches, right now I'm hoping for a complete game. Three 10 pitch innings=106 pitches. Sounds good to me.

    I agree totally, he looked great. I'm hoping my opinion here on NSBB has gotten a little respect, and one guy I will fight for is Asciano.

    He really is one of the best closers in baseball in my opinion. I love Kerry Wood so much!!

    LOL are you serious? 27 LOB Granted we have left a lot on base tonight. But when you get a lot of hits and score a lot of runs (and for the record 7 is a lot of runs) you leave a lot on base. I really think LOB is a REALLY OVERRATED stat unless you leave a lot on and only score 0-4 runs.

    Seriously why is Fontenot on the team, send him down, and call up Micah for another leftie off the bench. We have three middle infielders with Cedeno, Theriot, and DeRosa. And Epatt can play if we have an emergency, Do we really have any use for Fontenot????

    Got your wish, pretty damn smart of Fontenot to swing at the first pitch when a guy can't throw a strike.
