    I agree. Can you imagine if Epstein came to the northside and won a WS? I would imagine a man who ended the Red Sox WS drought, and then turned around and ended the Cubs; he would be a GOD forever in baseball.

If I'm going to cheat, it's got to be a move up. Have you seen Mrs. Lima? Now, THAT'S HOT!! =P~ proove it. Oh and I don't think this is a great deal for the Royals. Its not like hes cheap. He won't turn them around. Although I do have to say I don't know whats going on over there and what they're plan is. Maybe it makes perfect sense. Either way they get Anna. Can we trade some of our spare rule 5 arms for her? She'd be a great clubhouse presence. I don't usually get baited into this kind of thing, but are you serious? If so, I will send you a PM.

    if he had power, he'd be a better hitter. I know, but please give me a list of all the leadoff hitters with good power. (20+ HRs) Power isn't just about HR's. Pierre's SLG is hideous. Numerous (about every friggin' one) CF's have a better SLG %.

Thats a big jump, I still maintain that we could've done alot better with those prospects. Either way, at lesat it wont be neifi, thats something we can ALL agree on. To only look at his OBP from last year is not going to give you a true indication of how he is likely to perform. Take his career average OBP or his last three year OBP average, and then you will have a more likely idea of what kind of OBP he will produce. So he projects to actually be a significant improvement in OBP in the leadoff spot from last year. DISCLAIMER: THIS IN NO WAY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED MY APPROVAL OF THE AFOREMENTIONED TRADE.     Will this be the year Bradley can play a FULL season? Because he hasn't yet. Don't get me wrong, I like Bradley and what he brings to the table, but his injuries should be cause for concern, especially with the walking wounded this team fields.

    Can we apply the formula used by Diffusion to "equalize" Wilk's OBP too? He has a 55% success rate. Last year he attepted 18 steals, and was successful 8 times. I would be interested to see what his poor success rate does to his numbers. Here are the numbers for Wilk: SB/CS 01: 2/1 02: 7/8 03: 13/10 04: 13/6 05: 8/10 It would seem as though his OBP would drop (not nearly as much as Pierre), but his SLG would not be helped as much as Pierres'.

    i've heard other people say that, and i don't understand why. won't the slow grass keep his slap hits from getting through? I would have to say that the amount of increased friction to his "slap hits" would be completely outweighed by the benefit to his "bunt hits".

    Well, I could have told you guys this was going to happen. I traded Patterson for Bradley straight up in my ESPN 2K5 WSE game. I also have Wilkerson leading off, and Cedeno at short. So I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, you guys could have just asked ME. \:D/

    I'm like everyone else around here, waiting for somethin gto happen. In the mean time, I decided to check out exactly what kind of numbers the Cubs put up in the first 2 slots. In the 1 hole we put up a solid .299 OBP, and the 2 hole a whopping .314 OBP. My God, let me hit in one of those slots, I can talk a walk, I swear. That being said, we have in-house options that can perform in that role. I know you're upset at the thought of Neifi hitting 1 or 2, we all are. However, acquiring Pierre (or someone of his ilk) just to pacify Dusty is flat out foolish. Go get, or attempt to get, the best hitters available for the positions you need. Hnedry needs to stop trying to fill his romantic idea of a "leadoff" hitter, and just get quality bats. Wow. Sorry about that, I guess we're all a little on edge, huh?
