  1. Somebody at a game thought that I was Bartman one time, I guess because we're both white and wear glasses and Cubs hats? Although that would describe like 80% of our fans. EDIT: I mean the white guys in hats part, not the glasses part. Wheeeeeeeeeee!
  2. I considered calling this thread "Big Z Beats Sheets," but I like this one better. Zambrano (11-4) at Sheets (10-3)
  3. Game 2 of an win streak. Lilly (10-6) at Sabathia (4-0)* *They don't want you to know this, but he's actually 10-8.
  4. This time I KNOW it's my turn. Please refer to the thread "Let's Go Cubbies! (kind of a thread)" for information on my earlier attempt, as well as the second post on the second page of the ACTUAL game thread, if you can even bare to go in there at this point... yikes. By the way, you are supposed to sing the "kind of a thread" part, and preferably out loud. Aloud. However. VandenHurk (1-1) at Marquis (6-6), Game Time is 1:20, as usual, and this game will be broadcast on BOTH Comcast SportsNet AND TBS. Cubs win.
  5. Sorry, pitchcs. I knew I was next in line, but I guess I forgot that you weren't able to start yesterday's thread. Best of luck to you, sir, and hopefully we have a nice comfortable lead before I take over.
  6. What up. My name is The R-Train. Although most of you won't remember, I engineered a four-game win streak in the summer of '05, under a different alias, using thread titles such as ''The Return Of Mark Prior'' and ''Z's Revenge,'' until the powers that be decided to bitch, and, as very few came to my aid, I gave in. The streak came to an end in a game Greg Maddux got lit up by the Brew Crew. I hate the Brew Crew. And it's obvious something has to change. So my promise to you is if you'll let me do this my way, I will put an end to this slump, and give us the big lead we should have held onto all along. If anyone honestly doesn't know the pitching matchup or the game time, go to Cubs.com. All you really need to know is Harden dominates, and for once the offense rewards him for it.
  7. For day games I usually get there like an hour before the park opens, and can get front row. For night games, I get there like half an hour before the park opens, also front row. I've noticed the lines are a lot longer for day games, probably because at night people are coming from work or whatever.
  8. For us Comcast subscribers, is this game going to be on 174 like the last time they played on Plus?
  9. You know, you guys can get season tickets over Stubhub. That's what I would do if I had the money.
  10. Been busy. Working extra hours over the weekend to make up for the fact that I requested today off to go to the game, Friday to go to a party, and Saturday to recover from the party.
  11. If people start referring to him as "Ry Young" it will be. :(
  12. Well, if you guys hear somebody booing tomorrow night, it'll be me. I plan to be REALLY loud.
  13. This will be my third game of the season. My friend's bringing a sign with a picture of Ryan Dempster, and the caption "Ry Young." Does anyone know how early we have to get in line for front row bleacher seats? For day games, I usually just get there an hour before the park opens, but I've never been to a night game in the bleachers before, so I'm just wondering if the line's about the same? Longer? Shorter? I know this game's not sold out, but the bleachers are always packed. Our tentative plan is to take the train from Matteson at 2:00, get downtown around 3:00, hop on the redline, and be in Wrigleyville by 3:30, get a couple beers each at one of the local establishments, and then walk over to Wrigley and get in line at 4:00.
  14. Shockingly, I hate every single one of these teams. Dusty Baker's Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates 6:00 Volquez (1-0, 169) at Maholm (0-1. 9.00) Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets 6:00 Parra (1-0, 3.38) at Figueroa (0-0, 9.00) Florida Marlins at Houston Astros 7:00 Nolasco (0-0, 0.00) at Oswalt (0-2, 6.00) St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants 9:00 Lohse (1-0, 0.00) at Zito (0-2, 6.30)
  15. Um, oops. Apparently this Brewers game started five minutes ago.

Dusty Baker's Reds at Milwaukee Brewers 1:00 Harang (0-1, 2.77) at Villanueva (1-0, 3.38) St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants 9:00 Wainwright (1-0, 2.25) at Correia (0-1, 6.00) Astros with the day off; they start a three-game series with the Marlins tomorrow.

Discuss.
  18. Fantastic news. CLTV pissed me off so many times last year. I don't know why they don't just put this game on the regular CSN now that the Bulls are out of it.
  19. Tampa Bay Rays on national TV! Philadelphia Phillies at Dusty Baker's Reds 11:30 Hamels (0-0, 1.13) at Arroyo (0-0, 3.60) St. Louis Cardinals at Houston Astros 6:00 Wellemeyer (1-0, 1.80) at Rodriguez (0-0, 7.20) Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees 6:00, ESPN2 Hammel (3-5, 6.14 in 2007) at Mussina (0-1, 4.76) Brewers with the day off, and thus guaranteed not to win.
  20. Games That May Or May Not Matter Come September Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays 12:00, TBS Beckett (20-7, 3.27 in 2007) at Halladay (0-1, 3.86) Pittsburgh Pirates at Florida Marlins 12:00 Snell (0-0, 6.00) at VandenHurk (0-0, 9.00) Philadelphia Phillies at Dusty Baker's Reds 12:00 Myers (0-0, 5.40) at Volquez (2-1, 4.50 in 2007) San Francisco Giants at Milwaukee Brewers 1:00 Zito (0-1, 7.20) at Sheets (0-0, 0.00) Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals 1:00 Lannan (2-2, 4.15 in 2007) at Lohse (0-0, 0.00) Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers 7:00, ESPN2 Buehrle (0-0, 37.80) at Verlander (0-0, 6.00) Once again, I'd like to remind everyone to check out the free preview of MLBEI! Kind of excited about this Santana/Smoltz matchup today.
  21. Baltimore and Tampa Bay are tied for first place! San Francisco Giants at Milwaukee Brewers 12:00 Correia (4-7, 3.45 in 2007) at Parra (0-1, 3.76 in 2007) Philadelphia Phillies at Dusty Baker's Reds 12:00 Eaton (10-10, 6.29 in 2007) at Harang (0-1, 3.00) Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals 12:00 Chico (0-0, 5.06) at Wainwright (14-12, 3.70 in 2007) Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers 2:55, FOX Floyd (1-5, 5.27 in 2007) at Willis (10-15, 5.17 in 2007) Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres 2:55, FOX Penny (1-0, 0.00) at Peavy (1-0, 0.00) New York Mets at Atlanta Braves 2:55, FOX Maine (15-10, 3.91 in 2007) at Hudson (0-0, 2.57) Pittsburgh Pirates at Florida Marlins 6:00 Maholm (10-15, 5.02 in 2007) at Hendrickson (0-1, 10.80) Once again, I'd like to remind everyone to check out the free preview of MLBEI.... even though because of Fox blackout restrictions there won't be any games available until 6pm.
  22. Division Foes Doing Things San Francisco Giants at Milwaukee Brewers 1:00 Sanchez (1-5, 5.88 in 2007) at Villanueva (8-5, 3.94 in 2007) Philadelphia Phillies at Dusty Baker's Reds 6:00 Kendrick (10-4, 3.87 in 2007) at Fogg (10-9, 4.94 in 2007) Pittsburgh Pirates at Florida Marlins 6:00 Morris (7-7, 4.35 in 2007) at Olsen (10-15, 5.81 in 2007) Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals 7:00 Perez (0-0, 1.80) at Looper (12-12, 4.94 in 2007) And, uh, I was being totally sarcastic yesterday about Cueto. Honest. Once again, I'd like to remind everyone to check out the free preview of MLBEI! Tonight Hiroki Kuroda makes his Major League debut for the Dodgers, who are facing the San Diego Padres. Also, we get our first Mets/Braves series of the year, in what I think will be one of the better divisional races, and in the American League the Detroit Tigers will finally score the runs we expect, and more importantly get their first win of the year!
  23. You mean I can't talk about my nephew's dixie youth game in here? What's the deal? Only if I can talk about the Prairie State Junior College girls' softball team.
