    Man I hate Jim Hendry. Why doesn't he just take out an ad in the classifieds? Maybe he can go to E-Harmony and find his left handed hitting speedy middle infielder. Every time he talks about it it sounds like he's looking for love, not a baseball player

    Soooo... players get a 15-day suspension for admitting to the use of HGH or being proven to purchase and use it, despite there being no way of testing for it, yet you can get suspended 50 games for using steroids which they test for on a fairly normal basis. That needs to be more strict. That's like "Here's a little slap on the wrist if you use this stuff we can't catch you using that could potentially help your career". What's to stop players from using HGH besides public humility? At least that's how I see it

    How is it that some players who violate the drug policy for steroids or performance enhancers get 50 game suspensions, but these guys get 15 days for HGH?

    Probably not, I just hate incompetence, and I hate it even more when it's employed by the Cubs, which means the current regime kinda pisses me off.

    Adam Everett, Chris Burke, and a PITCHER? Even if the pitcher is a promising young prospect, we can TOTALLY outmatch that.

    You forgot to add that Hendry hates that a guy who has been so helpful to the Cubs organization is sitting there all unemployed and stuff. Well he has helped the Cubs quite a bit in the past. He helped keep Pittsburgh from being any good and gave us good players for nothing. He's probably helped us more then JH has. He kind of has, but that was as an employee of a division rival. If they bring him on here, even as an advisor, if Hendry takes his word on a lot of things, we'd likely be helping the Pirates. Murton, Gallagher, and Soto for Jack Wilson

    I missed the original title. Did it say he signed with the cubs? Regardless, I think the Nationals are now the clear cut favorites to win in the NL East. They're over the top, Stallone style

    Khalil Greene was Neifi Perez + HR's last year. EDIT: Oh, and About 80 more K's i don't think there's much wrong with having a shortstop who plays great defense and hits homeruns, even with a low obp. I'm not taking anything away from his SS defense, it's great don't get me wrong, but Greene never hit more than 20HR in any season, MLB or MiLB till this year. I'm sure if he weren't in SD he'd have had a dozen more HR and that's great and all but that OBP really hurts. He had 44 doubles, 3 triples, and 27HR and still managed to have an OPS+ of exactly 100, for a .759OPS. I'll take that at the bottom of the order, and at a cheaper price, in a heartbeat, but my befuddlement comes in why Pie is only worth Greene when Pie can develop into an above average offensive player (and everyone seems to think so, scouts and analysts included), while Khalil Greene is barely making the league average. dont even bring statistics into this discussion. Yeah, I know, you're the God of metrics. I'm not a noob, been here for a year now actually, just got back on tonight. Woe is me. I don't doubt your knowledge, you're a smart dude. Just wondering how you can justify Greene for Pie as being a smart move

    Ichiro was a different type of ball player than most of the Japanese players though. Most of the japanese players that come over end up being disappointments because they hit tons of HR's and high AVG over there and end up not hitting a ton over here. Ichiro wasn't a HR hitter, he just transfered a skill set that was top notch and could be successful at any baseball level, really. I really hope Fukudome is as advertised though (as if anyone doesn't)

    Well I'll be honest I don't follow college football THAT much, just enough to know who all the standouts are because every last one of my friends lives and breathes college football. But how is Harrell a bad QB? Not trying to challenge your knowledge, just curious

    I agree, and I can see where he's coming from as well, but I'm just curious why a Pie-Greene trade is a smart idea. I could see a Murton/Cedeno/Mid-to-Upper Level Prospect for Greene trade tossed around, but not our top prospect (if he's even considered a prospect anymore)

    I don't have a lot of time left to talk cause I gotta get to bed, but I'd love to be sold on why Khalil Greene is better and more valuable than Felix Pie.

    I think most people do. But you act like Pie is yesterday's left overs and equate his value to that of Khalil Greene, which is ridiculous. EDIT: Maybe in the future when we get to see what Pie is capable of he ends up putting up similar numbers to Greene, which would make it an equal comparison, but right now Pie can net us a player MUCH better than Greene

    Yeah, you are, lol. Seriously though, that's a hefty offer, but the O's will not trade Bedard AND Tejada to us without us likely throwing them Rich Hill and Felix Pie. And if we offer them a package without them, it most likely will have to include Marmol. I don't see the O's asking for anything other than those three players. I don't even think Hill, Pie, and Marmol get it done. Personally though, I'm not sold on Bedard's health plus Tejada is clearly starting to decline a bit in his skill set. Bedard showed this year that he's still got injury issues, the last thing I'd want is to trade top notch players we could've used and get players back who can't play a full season and continue to decline. Tejada is exiting his prime now, and it's obvious. I think they're overvalued because of Tejada's name & past and Bedard's one great year. FWIW, DeRosa was brought up as a SS 8-[

    I didn't think he'd win regardless, I just wish he wouldn't have been so cast aside like he's just some dude who throws a football like most media outlets are doing. At least give an honorable mention to the guy.

    Every time I read TLR I get dyslexic and think people are talking about Total Request Live. Maybe Rolen was supposed to be LaRussa's DD and he bailed on him [/cheapshot]
