  1. Of course they hate him, he's sugar sweet

  3. Here are all of James Adduci's AB's from 7.29.09 when he went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and 7.31.09 when he went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles a home run and 2 RBI's Adduci 7.29.09 Adduci 7.31.09
  4. Marmol leads the majors in holds, though!!!!!!!!11
  5. Same story for Chris Carpenter's day yesterday, 7.31.09 Chris Carpenter 07.31.09
  6. Here is Andrew Cashner's day from 7.29.09. It is his full day, each pitch and even his AB's. Sorry I couldn't label them properly, they are in the form of 98 small .mov files, one for each pitch thrown on the mount and each pitch taken at the plate in his AB's. I tried exporitng the entire playlist aso ne movie but it would just stall out and crash, this was the best I could do for ya. There are no pitch speeds indicated but just know that the Fastballs early on were hitting anywhere between 97 and 99 regularly Cashner's Day Working on Carpenter's day now
  7. I am guessing it had something to do that through 3 innings he had given up 5 H, 2 HBP, and 29 of his 54 pitches were for strikes. That was it. He was really wild. He almost hit Cyle Hankerd in the face. I think a few runners got by on wild pitches. He had good stuff though. His fastball reached 98 once, but I think that could've been a fluke, because it was on a pitch high and outside, it was a little wild and might've played tricks with our radar gun, because his fastball sat anywhere between 91-96 all night. I think a reason for his success is his fastball, it appears he can do what Rich Harden does and vary the speed of it within that speed range. It's pretty deceptive. Also his slider has some wicked bite to it, but he didn't really have it under control. Overall I think he's got some serious talent that still needs a lot of work, but I'm no scout that's just my personal opinion based off of seeing him throw 3 innings, which isn't much, but it's what I saw. Uhhhhh... was a long ass night, don't remember much else. I'll go through the game footage later today along with the rest of the stuff. Got the day off today and tomorrow. I'll try and piece together Carpenter and Cashner's starts pitch by pitch. Could take a while though, I have to grab all the videos off the hard drive from their root directory and they aren't labeled to identify the play, it's all 0731090001.mov and crap. I'll get it done though.
  8. If he didn't approve it when he was healthy, why would he approve it when he's injured?
  9. if the yonder alonso and austin jackson rumors asre true, then........... WTF?!?!?
  10. They'll be lucky if they play tonight. We've had to pull the tarp 6 times since 9:30 this morning. And it appears there's no end in sight. It's raining like crazy right now and once it's over it looks like it's gonna rain like crazy 30 minutes later, and so on and so forth. This one might get banged out.
  11. Because Kotchman sucks and LaRoche still has some sort of value left in him and he's a hometown guy. I bet the fans are gonna love this move
  12. We're not patting him on the back for using andro and amphetamines, we're patting him on the back for being a man about it and admitting his wrongdoing even though there was no proof against him. How many other players still playing have done that? If you want to condemn him in your own mind for what he did in the past, understandable, he used some form of performance enhancers to set himself apart from the rest of the competition. But he didn't have to admit anything, it takes a big man to admit something that could tarnish your reputation while no one suspected you of anything
  13. Good of him to step up like that. I applaud his honesty. Hopefully other players follow suit. Better to admit your past mistakes rather than eventually be outed and look like you were trying to hide something from everyone, IMO
  14. No real movement, just a straight and narrow fastball, but he was hitting some high numbers with it
  15. I've been watching him all week. He's had a decent series, but there hasn't been anything about his play really that stood out to me. He's a nice player, but I don't think he's a major leaguer any time soon. I'll throw up some vids of him when I put the others up this weekend
  16. 5-2 Smokies over BayBears. Marquez Smith hit a monster 2-run blast. Which Blake Lalli followed up with a solo jack (a "just barely" one). The BayBears bats once again were relatively silent. They were playing great baseball going into the break but since then they've been relatively mediocre. Parker gave up another 5 ruins. Topped out at 100MPH, fastball sat between 97-99 in the first couple of innings. Got off to a hot start, just like his last outing, struck out two and got a grounder ot go 1-2-3 in the first, then he started walking and leaving pitches over the plate and the Smokies made him pay. Marquez Smith BTW has some serious power, I was watching his BP a couple days ago and he can hit the ball a mile, but I think he's kinda like Cerrano, a dead fastball hitter. But when he connects, it goes and it doesn 't come down for a while. The one he hit tonight was ridiculous. Coleman got a decent outing thanks to weak bats. Seriously, his stuff isn't anything special but I think he only gave up one run over 6 or 7 innings, something like that. He should've gotten torched, his stuff wasn't that impressive at all. Brian Schlitter can throw some gas, too BTW. He topped out at 98 I think. His control is a little suspect and his secondary pitches could use some work, but his fastball has some serious zip to it Anyways, that's what I got from Mobile. Again, I'll try and get the vids this weekend
  17. He played with Rickey. And Rickey's last year in the league was 2003... could he have been juicing then and be one of the people on that list? If he was juicing at 44 years old he's a moron
  18. Well that's a relief, guess our guys got some bad info. Or maybe they changed their mind? IDK. Either way, glad he's not out of our farm system :)
  19. This makes no sense. Unless it's for off the field stuff. Are players allowed to go out drinking on the road? I don't know the protocol on that, but mentioned that I had friends while he was in Mobile who met him at a bar and he bought her and her friends drinks all night? Perhaps too much partying? So its your fault then. If you wouldnt have posted about that here then this [expletive] would have never happened to Jay Jack. Damnit can we just shut this board down so we dont effect anymore trades or demotions? LOL. If that's the case then they read these boards. So uh... I also heard Aaron Miles was snorting crack off a disease infested male prostitute....
  20. This makes no sense. Unless it's for off the field stuff. Are players allowed to go out drinking on the road? 21. Probably hiding in his cataclysm-proof bunker from the fallout from this historically bad trade. In his defense at the time there were grumblings it was gonna be a deal involving Jackson for Grabow who the Pirates were asking top prospects form other organizations for.
  22. 100% agree. He wasn't tearing it up, but he was definitely doing a competent enough job to keep his spot.
  23. Jackson was demoted today. SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Class AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce a series of roster moves Thursday. RHP Chris Carpenter has been promoted from High-A Daytona. In a corresponding roster move, RHP Jay Jackson has been sent to Daytona. Carpenter was 6-4 with a 2.19 ERA in 20 games started between Daytona and Low-A Peoria. In 98.2 innings pitched, he allowed 30 runs (24 earned) on 70 hits, with 41 walks and 93 strikeouts. In five starts with Daytona, he posted a 2-1 record. He allowed seven runs (four earned) on 15 hits, walking eight and striking out 33. Carpenter was selected by the Cubs in the third round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. Jackson was 5-5 with a 3.70 ERA in 16 games started with Tennessee. I n 82.2 innings pitched he allowed 35 runs (34 earned) on 73 hits, walked 41 and struck out 93. Jackson was drafted by the Cubs organization in the ninth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. That's probably the official word. Jackson twittered that he was getting demoted a couple days ago and he was on his way to Daytona (or wherever they were playing). I wonder if he got pulled form his start because it wasn't made official until today?
  24. The obligiatory "Jose Canseco was right" article following an outed user... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4367025 In all seriousness though, these outed players keep making him look like a genius in the eyes of the media
