I had no idea Choi was in the HR Derby. Youtube confirms: Ahh yes. IIRC, they wanted to get a participant from each of the represented countries in baseball to help promote the first year of the WBC. Choi was the only Korean hitter at the time I think who had any sort of name recognition, so by default he was selected.

I like how the ST game threads give off the same vibe as the minor league game threads last year. If there's more than two pages of comments, Javier Baez probably hit a home run.

There wouldn't be enough room in the world to contain the boner I'd get if Rizzo, Castro, Baez, Olt, Bryant, Almora, and Soler all hit their ceilings at the same time.

Who is the Cubs #28 prospect (run-off)?

Amaya was gonna be my next choice after Paniagua. I think Amaya has the ability to be in the dicussion as a Top 20 prospect in the system by year's end. He's my favorite of the lesser known prospects we have. -
I was trying to find a way myself. My only idea is to fine one of those streaming sites like First Row Sports. I found one that claimed it was streaming MLB Network, but it was ESPN instead. I guess they don't worry about it in the offseason

Soler or Vogelbach? I don't really agree with either, but I guess if you're talking best case outcomes, maybe. Barney, but he meant 0.80 That's a little too generous

Yes, but there are still some scouts who think Bryant has as much, if not more power than Baez, and they're both pushing 80 on the scale (I think some grade them out there already). Bryant profiles as a corner OF'er with big power who shares a much similar build to Stanton. That's kind of what I was referring to, though I did still originally accidentally state he's practically Stanton already, and that was a silly mistake.

Eww gross, no to all three of those going over for Stanton. Bryant might become the next Stanton, and Almora will probably be one of the better CF'er in the game. Stanton is an oft injured beast that would need a large contract extension to really make him worth acquiring. If the Cubs attempt to get him, a package would likely start with Soler since a) he's also a RF'er and b) he's Cuban and the Marlins are superficial ass hats who will exploit his nationality to sell tickets

That version of Rizzo, a bounce back from Castro, and a fulfillment on Olt's potential would make the offense seem not so dreadful

The mobile site there loaded up quickly, but out of curiosity, does CBS Sports' regular site take forever to load for everyone else? Each time there's an article it takes a good 20-30 seconds just for the page to transfer for me, wondering if anyone else has the same problems. Maybe not that long, but yeah, it takes awhile. It's why I don't go there often. Same here. In regards to the article though: This reminds me of Stanton, and I witnessed something like this first hand working for the Mobile Bay Bears. Stanton hit a towering fly ball, looked like an easy pop up to center, didn't sound like he got good wood on it. Just kept carrying and carrying until it went over the wall and almost hit me in the head out in CF. If Kris Bryant has that same type of power, that'd be pretty swell.
