  1. Maybe better chances of getting more runners on for them to drive in? That's my best guess because you could make a case for the 5th batter having more chances to be in RBI situations than the 3rd or 4th hitters in the lineup.
  2. Raisin posted this in the Cubs news thread yesterday

  4. I haven't really kept up 100% with all the draft news. Why do people see the Cubs as passing on Jackson now?
  5. I know this is just me, but I wouldn't have thought that was Manny in that picture for some reason. Looks like Aramis' face

  7. They're gonna keep using it, but badly dub over that part with the other provider, not unlike this:
  8. Except in those scenarios they don't pitch at all, correct? Wasn't Pomeranz in limbo for like 3 1/2 weeks doing nothing as the PTBNL?
  9. Not to mention the possibility of the Cubs still loading up their chips for a big trade splash and starting the clock on Bryant will hurt that value. I do't think they'll extend him until they realize they absolutely need/want him long term. None of this "Let's give him an extension before he reached the majors" type stuff with Bryant. That said, I want them to do that, but who knows what this FO is thinking
  10. I remember about 20 years ago my Dad and I laughing at that commercial during the Cubs game because the old man is essentially "breaking up" potting soil. I could have put two forks to work and done the same thing with that terrain. BUT HOW WOULD YOUR BACK HAVE FELT DOING THAT, HUH? Garden Claw 1 Forks 0
  11. "It's Eagle Man!" "I've. Got Something. For YOOOOUUUUUUUU" *pops a squat. bird hatches* [dead robot voice]"Wow, look at those low rates."[/dead robot voice]
  12. That whole admitting to being addicted to pot probably deflates the value a bit. Dramatization of Jon Singleton's bout with marijuana addiction:
  13. When you play the Game of Threads...
  14. Eddie Butler would be great if he started striking people out again. I asked in another thread (or maybe earlier in this one) but is he toying with a sinker to induce more ground balls this year or something? Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
  15. That Bryant picture is great Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
  16. And so it begins http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v33325603/sfstl-taveras-launches-a-solo-shot-for-first-hit I'm scared to death he's going to be a left handed Pujols. Give him another year or two and Rizzo might beat him to the punch
  17. Yup. Waiting for the MLB video. Judging from David's reaction I assume it was a monster shot

  19. ► Likes feta cheese on his eggs ► Has a healthy 3 bowel movements each day ► Can't wait to retire so he can grow a beard
  20. Haven't you heard? They're renaming it the David Ortiz Tunnel now, on account of Ted Williams not officially being on the Mount Rushmore of Boston sports icons.
