  1. I was gonna do that, but I slept in super late and my league won't let you set lineups once the first game of the day starts
  2. http://38.media.tumblr.com/fd84db9f2f27135840cd4d50d9540437/tumblr_mwq7vsMlgp1se7gzoo3_250.gif http://i.imgur.com/ciqvyq5.gif
  3. Miley Cyrus makes Black Dynamite upset http://i.imgur.com/d6YH7fo.gif
  4. MLB.tv is being a stupid bitch to me right now. Ugh. I wanna watch Wada pitch
  5. They're playing. Wada just walked Hamilton
  6. I think Black Dynamite gifs are just what we need to get another win streak going. LET'S DROP THIS LOSING [expletive]: http://i.imgur.com/R9Iakvb.gif
  7. Shields is too old at this point, Cubs probably won't even bother considering him.
  8. Liriano has been pretty bad this year. I know his upside is 2nd tier, but his numbers this year probably won't have him getting paid like a 2nd tier guy. I'd definitely try and buy low on him in the offseason and add a guy like Lester as well. He's currently got a 0.4 fWAR and a -0.3 rWAR. 77 ERA+. 4.60 ERA. 1.45 WHIP. 4.5 BB/9... but he's got a 9.6 K/9 and a 3.49 xFIP. He fits the mold, and I'd love to see what Bosio can do with him. His overall numbers this year are sloppy so who knows what he's gonna try and get on the market given his previous year was really good. Also wouldn't mind McCarthy
  9. or just call them by nothing but their respective names? Now you're just talking crazy
  10. Why can't we just call them something ominous and awesome without including a number in the title?
  11. Wen I was a little kid it was Dawson. Always tried to emulate his stance in little league or whiffle ball or whatever. When I got a little older it was Sammy Sosa, but I became a big fan before he became a thing. The year he only hit 8 homers with the Cubs I saw him and thought his stance was awesome and he immediately became my favorite player. Then after Sosa Aramis was my favorite Cub. Now it's Rizzo.
  12. cliffs? Kyle posted a long opinion on Castro getting traded, basically the same stuff he's been posting here the last couple of days explaining why it's probably not going to happen and the mets fans praised him for being a smart fan and asked him to stick around. oh. i figured the mets fans wanted them to trade for one of the SS's. They do, but they weren't familiar with the Cubs FO's manifesto that pitching prospects can go suck a big huge dingaling
  13. I realize that Castro makes sense for the Mets and their young pitching prospects make sense for the Cubs, but what you guys probably aren't reading (because you're out of market) are the sound bites from our front office that say things like how much they value Castro, how excited they are with his progression, how he doesn't have to worry about anyone moving him off the position, how he, Russell, and Baez can all fit into the infield, etc. Not to mention they've made it known they plan to explore the FA pitcher market. They've also given off vibes that they feel young pitching prospects are too volatile to sink too much investment into (injuries, poor performance, etc), and that buying experienced pitching is the smarter way of acquiring it. Instead of investing in pitching prospects they invest in position prospects, and they use those to acquire major league talent, if they trade them, because the landscape of baseball is that offense is a very scarce commodity these days. By all accounts from what our front office has said, it sounds like they are content going into 2015 keeping all of our shortstops. A lot of the confusion people have is that the Cubs can't possible have three shortstops on the roster (four if you count Alcantara). Well reality is Baez probably makes more sense as a third baseman (cannon arm), Russell makes more sense as a SS (best defensive profile of the three), and Castro makes more sense as a 2B (great range, not so great arm), and Alcantara is being groomed for center field. Basically the Cubs don't need to move any of them, because they are all athletic enough to change positions and succeed. Now, that said it's very possible they use their strength to address a weakness but all signs point to them keeping Castro. We've been speculating (me a lot more than others, admittedly) that one of Russell or Baez could be moved for a major piece, but it's not pitching, it's Giancarlo Stanton (not as crazy as it sounds if you really look into the situation [also that sounds a lot like the Digiorno tagline]). Soooooo unless you got something better than Stanton chances are you won't be getting any of our shortstops.
