  1. And while we're on the "where are they now" subject: Australian pitcher Chris Mowday (remember him from 2004 in Daytona?) will play for RCH of the Dutch league in 2009.
  2. You mean he's Canadian? Other than that obvious flaw, I don't think there's anything wrong with him.
  3. The way things are going, it looks like Pie will be in trouble come opening day. So sad he was once considered "untouchable" in the Cubs system.
  4. I would love to see this one 8-)
  5. And mr Koskie makes it in to a game. How did he look?
  6. It wasn't a request.it was an order!!! .... that also applies to you, in case you were in any doubt.
  7. Cut it out guys. if you disagree with the original post (or with the people disagreeing with it), I'm sure you can find enough rational arguments to debate you point of view without resorting to kindergarden-level posts.
  8. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions, Mick. Being at AA, you sometimes get players of whom some people expect it to be their "last stop" before getting called up to the majors - how does the team (and the announcers) handle such expectations? Do you just go with it or consciously try to tone it down?
  9. Still nothing shocking in there.
  10. Then ST seems the appropriate place  .
  11. I'm watching the game on Dutch TV, and they're rooting for Real (the number of Dutchmen in their squad may have something to do with it  ). The commentary is quite funny at times.
  12. I still hope (and think) Maestri can be an adequate ML reliever come 2010.
  13. Indeed. These guys, as well as probably the next fifteen roster cuts or so, would have been sent down sooner or later.
  14. In his defense, he was only 12 back then. :-))
  15. That's probably what awaits Dwayne Kemp - he hasn't played for the Dutch international squad before (only on the junior level); I'd be surprised if he makes it now. As I expected, Dwayne Kemp didn't make the final cut for the Netherlands.
  16. To stay healthy? Personally, I'm not prepared to go past that assuption (taking in to account the previous seasons). The easiest way back for him would probably be a bullpen role for at least one season, but I doubt he's willing to go that route - for now.
  17. If you are referring to the Cactus League, I agree.
  18. Please keep your discussions on this board about the argument at hand and not about who pm'd which insult to whom.
  19. Perhaps the eventual winners may?
  20. My theory is that Lou lurks on NSBB and deliberately made that statement to rub this board the wrong way.
  21. Hi Nathan, Thanks for taking the time to read our question. I'd like to know how you prepare yourself for the new season, and more specifically to report on the new players you'll be watching. You obviously get information from the organization, but do you also contact your colleagues in Boise for more information? And conversely, do you ever get such questions from your counterparts in Daytona?
  22. English cricket superstar from the eighties - credited with winning the 1981 Ashes series against Australia. I remember watching the final two days of the third test of that series with growing amazement on TV after Botham walked out to the wicket early on monday afternoon with England in a hopeless position - the rest, as they say, is history, and it was fun watching it live on TV.
  23. Didn't Ian Botham try that transition the other way round once during his prime? (yeah, I know, my age is showing ...)
