  1. Not necessarily saying that correlation=causation, but did anyone catch Vinny calling a timeout in the 4th after the Bulls went on a 10-1 run to cut the lead down to four? The Grizzlies had been up by 25, and the Bulls had scored 26 of the last 33 points. After the TO, Memphis scored six straight and put the game away.
  2. Maybe Hinrich's goofy ass can drop some cheap shot on somebody the way he did to Rondo last year. You're the best troll in the world!
  3. No? But that's irrelevant anyway. A dirty foul is a dirty foul, regardless of the outcome.
  4. And Howard's "advice" for Rose to go up off two feet is just stupid. Sure, you're less likely to get hurt, but that's only because you can only jump half as high off two feet.
  5. Ha. Are you kidding? He ran over and jumped INTO him. He wasn't even making a play on the ball. That's a dirty play. If you watch, Howard actually pulls his arms back away from Rose. He was just going in to make body to body contact.
  6. that [expletive] is dirty as hell. You know, after rewatching, it was dirty. Howard wasn't even going for the ball.
  7. Maybe not difference makers, but they're a lot better than the guys who replaced them. Warrick might be the worst defensive forward in the NBA and Flip Murray shoots like a drunk Kirk Hinrich. They downgraded at two positions and are worse because of it. But I do still agree with you that the big difference has been health in this recent stretch. Combine that with a downgrade in talent and you'll get some ugly results.
  8. The ESPY's? That's your argument?
  9. The difference isn't $400,000, Sully. The 2.5 percent difference in raises comes out to more than that. For example, this summer, the Cavs can offer LeBron a six-year deal that's worth $125.5 million. Every other team can offer him a five-year deal worth $96.1 million. Over the first five years of the deal, the Cavs' contract would be worth $100.2 million. So, you're talking a little more than $4 million difference over the course of five years. We've already talked about the five vs. six years thing, but there's no way that a 6/$125 million deal isn't significantly more attractive than 5/$96 million.
  10. Possibly, but if he goes up against a defensive back, he'll have a huge size and strength advantage. And I'm not sure he's that much slower than a lot of WRs. He ran a 4.51 forty-yard dash at his combine. That'd put him right in the middle of the 2010 WR class.
  11. I know you're just kidding around but pshhh, that can be applied anywhere. hey free agents, come on down to oklahoma city! we've got kevin durant! He doesn't pass! Don't forget about big man .... uh, we don't really have a big man! Also, we're a playoff team, we got the 6-seed! You can't find an open restaurant in town on Sundays! Did you know that Nick Collison is still in the league!
  12. No, that's not how it works. Teams are allowed to offer more money to their own players.
  13. It's protected if it's top 10. Ah, thanks. I didn't realize this. So the biggest downside of the pick swap would be something like 17 for 11? That's not bad at all. At that point, it's not bad in terms of talent. And, not that it's a significant factor or anything, the lower the draft choice, the lower the cap hold. The difference between 11 and 17 is about $440,000. More room for free agents!
  14. It's protected if it's top 10.
  15. And their next six are against Utah, Orlando, Miami, Memphis, Dallas and Cleveland.
  16. I can't believe you didn't have any friends in high school.
  17. I'd say may 6-7 guys, guaranteed. Beyond that, I don't think it's a sure bet than anyone else would have done better.
  18. Kyle ruins everything. Just stop talking.
  19. The full quote, which actually makes it more ridiculous.
  20. I don't think he'd be a good fit for this defense. He's better at man coverage and can't tackle anyone. Corners need to be able to hit in Lovie's D. (insert joke about how the Bears can't tackle anyone either)
  21. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/02/more-fun-with-tampering-bears-met-with-peppers-agent/ I'm just happy they're showing legitimate interest in spending money this offseason.
  22. The first part doesn't bother me quite as much. Hendry's background is as a scout, and a good scout can be really valuable in evaluating players. But the second part is unnecessary and irrelevant. Sure, people CAN frame stats to skew arguments, but scouts can also skew arguments by talking about garbage like a player's makeup and the way he carries himself while taking infield practice. I'm encouraged by what Ricketts said. If the Cubs disappoint this year and Hendry is booted, I feel pretty confident that Ricketts will hire a GM who does more than just pay lip service to statistical analysis.
  23. Most QBs get killed when they don't have a good o-line in front of them.
  24. Almost all of this seems at least partly wrong.
  25. Albert Haynesworth? Last year? Edit: I guess the Redskins were 8-8 the year before, so that doesn't technically qualify.
