  1. Seriously, that looks like one of the worst trades ever, unless they know something like Luka's foot actually has a bomb implanted in it that will go off within a year
  2. Well, Jed certainly has the Cubs tied into a lot of "possible" moves. Hopefully we have one more big move for a SP in store, and probably a RP (Robertson?) too
  3. I don't remember that specifically, but does any one else feel like if KB went to an org that wasn't a dumpster fire like Colorado then maybe his career would have turned out differently? I know injuries have been a huge part of it, but I feel like even that is a byproduct of being in a bad org.
  4. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6087196/2025/01/29/mlb-prospects-top-100-just-missed-2025/ Keith Law's just missed list includes both Caissie and Jefferson Rojas
  5. And while Darnell Wright hasn't been great, can you imagine how much worse the line would be with a cheap FA signing at RT instead?
  6. One other note from Law's list is that when referencing his grading scale for tools, he mentions that "80 is Pete Crow-Armstrong's defense"
  7. easy to say all that after Johnson got the job. It may be completely true, but it's just as likely that it's all spin. Though I do think Johnson wanted to be in Chicago due to Caleb and the familiarity with the division and the clear opportunity to be seen as the conquering hero if he's as good as he thinks he is (which is no slight - I think you have to have a healthy ego as a football coach)
  8. Allen seems to be a good choice for DC... Can DJ Moore play the ARSB role in this offense? Let Odunze be the field stretcher, even though his speed is nothing like Jameson Williams (not that many are on that level)
  9. Da Bum was the moniker of a poster here who got banned... but it's ok, it doesn't seem like you'll be around long enough to learn about him
  10. at least Da Bum was occasionally entertaining
  11. Gotta be honest, didn't realize Daniel's had pulled away that much statistically.
  12. Goff turned into a pumpkin and his defense had about as many injuries as the Bears O-Line... I don't think he's anything special, but this result isn't evidence of your point
  13. Rooting for the Bills tomorrow so that the Bears can wrap up their coaching search this week. I'd rank them as follows: 1. Johnson 2. Monken 3. McCarthy
  14. NFC North playoff standings: Team W-L GB Chicago 0-0 -- GB 0-1 0.5 DET 0-1 0.5 MIN 0-1 0.5
  15. also, Aaron Glenn's D didn't give up a pick 6, or fumble, or throw 2 other INTs. Still wouldn't want my team to hire a defensive guy, but this game isn't the reason
  16. Everyone was saying Stroud was leaps and bounds better than Bryce Young last year... Young really closed that gap this year. Caleb's stats aren't that much worse than Daniels', it's just that Daniels' team is a lot better around him, not to mention the actual NFL coaching staff
  17. that play with the toss to the RB and the shovel to ARSB was awesome
  18. welp... remove placeholder from the thread title
  19. is it just me, or are the Cubs generally awful at dealing with injuries? How many times have they not put someone in the IL, only for them to end up missing just as much time and playing shorthanded in the meantime? Then you get stories like that...
  20. Schefter was on Pat McAfee and said the "Johnson to the Raiders" stuff is overblown, among other things. https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2025/01/17/ben-johnson-update-0117/
  21. i'd still like Sasaki to sign with the Jays. Because horsefeathers the Dodgers
  22. Every sports team owner who complains about not being able to afford to compete should be forced to sell their team.
