    WTF are the Texans doing? The Cowboys Jumbotron is already ridiculously large and their new one will dwarf it. When you go to a game at Cowboys Stadium (now AT&T Stadium, I guess) you end up watching on the Jumbotron because it is too distracting. It's an amazing piece of technology but it detracts from the game. There is a very strong sense that fans are being drawn away from the stadium to watch games, and teams are desperate to find gimmicks to keep them in attendance. the prevailing thought is that the stadium experience should match/exceed the home viewing experience on a technological level

    The irony is that in high school, the pitcher is often also the best hitter on the team (as they're often the best all around athlete). Then they go to the minors and never hit again

    I'm usually anti-traditionalist, but a little part of me HATES the idea of paying a guy a lot of money to be a fat, unathletic free swinger who can't field but can only hit and huff-n-puff his way around the bases

    I hate how ESPN forced that Johnny Football nickname on an unknown freshman, then forced America to vote him the Heisman Championship

    FWIW, everyone here in Columbus knows it's garbage, and the general consensus is that anything less than 12-0 is unforgivable because of it

    It'll never happen, but I'd love scheduling to be taken out of the hands of the school AD's. I know the conferences set the conference schedule, but the OOC has gotten so amazingly lame that it's hardly worth playing 90% of the games. One FCS school is ridiculous enough, but when a powerhouse like Bama can schedule TWO in one year? GIve me a break.

    So Alabama doesn't play Georgia, Florida or South Carolina, and has LSU at home. Oh, plus two FCS schools. If they don't sleepwalk their way to the NC game, it'll be a major upset

    The Aramis walk off vs the Brewers is one of his greatest moments as a Cub. I remember watching that game in a Cleveland hotel while waiting to go to an Indians game. My kid was napping and I woke her up when I cheered
