  1. That's not why people were and continue to rail on you... It's the "all or nothing" approach of meatballism; if someone disagrees with the meatball it must be because they hold the opposite extreme opinion of the meatball's extreme opinion. commonly known as "projection"
  2. Blake Griffin out 8 weeks with a torn meniscus. Whoopsy
  3. I was gonna bring up the Jordan Rules. I think a lot of us are remembering what we thought of MJ as young kids growing up Bulls fans. There are a lot of people who didn't like him. I was in college from '92-'96, and pretty much everyone worshipped the guy (including me)
  4. Holy hell, no. The world was in love with Jordan. '92 was before his "baseball vacation" and before all of the infidelity stuff was made public.
  5. That's REALLY looking back on the '92 team with rose-colored glasses. Guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Ewing and Barkley were all notorious douchebags. Notorious among their contemporaries, but darlings in the media (ok, not Ewing or Barkley). Today's media focuses much more on the negative personalities of athletes than media 20 years ago That's more the environment of having a 24-hour news cycle, but back then it's not like these guys were hiding many secrets. Everyone knew they were pricks. I think if you took a national poll in '92 that said "Is Michael Jordan a prick?", the results would be around 3% Yes, 97% No.

  7. well Jerry Krause didn't' like cornrows, so.....
  8. Because the Diamondbacks wanted a third baseman But they just traded Youk in order to give Middlebrooks the full time job And Middlebrooks will cost 33M less over the next 3 seasons. And he plays a more in-demand position. And he doesn't have injury concerns. but Arizona wants him, so...

  10. I read that joke months ago
  11. Garnett was a rumor at the time. Curry was closer to reality
  12. It also has landed a few of them as well. Bobby Simmons, Quentin Richardson, and Mark Aguirre come to mind. 3 players since 1978 is a godawful track record. They might have landed Garnett or Curry if the current rules were in place. And if someone Rosed KG's ACT for him. As a DePaul alum, I can assure you that the academic standards for admittance are pretty low

  14. DePaul has a history of getting a nice little hometown "maybe" before being spurned for the big boy schools.
  15. He's not a homer. He's an incredibly whiny, woe is me, only my team, baby. so Sulley, then
  16. Orlando should just stop answering the phone. They should look at what Denver did with Carmelo and realize that moving Howard quickly is probably not going to land them the best deal. If you don't get exactly what you want, start the season with him and wait for other teams to get desperate.
  17. Holy [expletive], this thing is still on? It's boring and endless
  18. as is the unwritten little league-ish rule about getting everyone in the game no matter what. Participation trophies for everyone! Then they can all celebrate with Ritz Bits and juice boxes!
  19. The "one player per team" requirement is dumb if the game's result is home field advantage in the WS.
  20. Who the hell would trade for him knowing that he's being released? I wonder if they even tried to trade him for an early 2nd to take a guy like Doron Lamb. If you really want him, you don't chance it that he'll come to you in free agency
  21. 2004 was inexcusable. That lineup was sick (didn't Sosa hit 6th?) and the pitching was all there
  22. I think I have one more first half transaction. If so, drop Stanton and add Hamilton
  23. Definitely Cynosure
  24. Everyone's making moves? If by everyone you mean 1/2 dozen teams, youre exactly right.
