  1. Not at all. I've been a fan for over 20 years. When I say "ignore them" I mean not watch every game. I've watched as many games as I could this year. In 2013 I didn't go out of my way to watch them. Did I care that they sucked at the time? Of course....it sucked. Do I let that suckitude temper my enthusiasm in 2015? Not one bit And if the current plan results in the team somehow sucking again next year, I'll care about it then. Not now
  2. Then why would you even click on this thread? The title of the thread is "worth it?" Clearly it was worth it, because I'm enjoying them NOW and could largely ignore them when they sucked
  3. The past is the past. Who cares how we got here when we've got here. Why would I let a crappy 2013 or whatever tarnish or ruin my enjoyment of this season?
  4. The fix is in
  5. His insistence that lead off hitter was an actual position never wavered
  6. I guess, though in this instance it reads to me as "the Cubs have a lot of men on base for their core hitters, and those hitters are getting hits with RISP. it means something
  7. 100 RBI means something regardless of its relative value as a stat
  8. I'll take the next version of Thome, Belle, Ramirez, Vizquel, Alomar, Baerga, Franco, etc.
  9. 90s yankees or 90s indians whichever you like best Yankees had the rings, but the Tribe had the dongs
  10. Remember when people argued that bringing up Russell and Schwarber this year was a bad idea? they did? Maybe not many here, but certainly many in Cubs fandom. Those of the "2016 is the real year to contend" camp

  12. Rizzo needs to change his contacts before game two. Yeesh
  13. That has to be the largest gap between amount paid and actual value ever right? What was Mike Hampton worth over the course of his contract?
  14. that's equal parts awesome and random. is it some variation of the cochlear implant? think it's called a bone conduction hearing aid? I have zero hearing problems but I want one of those
  15. I'd imagine its tough to get all of your staff in for a double header on such short notice
  16. In order for their LOB% to regress to the mean, they pretty much have to let every baserunner score for the rest of the year
  17. I can't say I put that much thought into it
  18. Ironic walkup music = best walkup music
  19. Better record does not mean better team. What if two good teams beat up on three patsies and wild card team has one more win that another division winner? Do they truly deserve a higher seed? Divisions matter and they should. Then go to a balanced schedule You cannot do that. There is no reason to try. It ain't broke and it is pointless to constantly try to fix it. Cannot? They had a balanced schedule not long ago.
