Should be noted that they did part with a 4th round pick, luckily a compensatory pick, and get a 2017 6th. Still a pretty good deal, but depending on how you value the discount on the 2018 pick and which trade chart you use, its more like they bought a mid 3rd to mid 4th rounder. Probably worth $16M, but not really a sustainable strategy either. Pretty intriguing deal though, a "NBA deal" for sure. Yep, basically Cleveland saying "give us something and we'll take the cap hit for you".
