  1. They would have used Erin Moran (Joanie Cunningham of Happy Days) as their mascot.
  2. Since the breakup of the championship team, this team has lacked the "go-to" superstar. Jalen Rose failed, Crawford was a bust, Curry was too slow to develop, and free agents have spurned us time and time again. I'm not sure the "next big thing" is in this year's draft or not, but for now, the team is all role players and no star
  3. it's a deer (Spikes refers to antlers I guess). It wasn't the mascot I voted for. He voted for this one: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a378/mike_yale/moransface.jpg had "The Morans" been a choice i might very well have
  4. ____ Sucks t-shirts are the garbage that Sox fans wear. I won't lower myself to that.

  6. I'm PO as well, should have never been that close in the first place. I guess our only recourse is to hope they learn from this loss, use it to play stronger down the stretch. I'd like to see the Illini play PSU in the Big Ten tournament, those gimmick zones combined with Parker having the game of his life worked once, will it work again? ah, the cry of Illini nation. No way Penn State could have just won. It was all aqbout "gimmick zones" and "career games" you lost, live with it yep, we lost. congratulations. imagine if penn state had been beaten in football by the illini, you'd be pretty upset. unfortunately, the sports gods would never let that happen. the illini, in the history of their sports program, have never pulled an upset the size of what happened against PSU. and never will--just like i will never, ever, ever, pull the river card that i need to lay a bad beat down on someone. illini fans, it's all my fault. and derwood, be happy that i'm not a PSU fan. If Illinois had beat PSU I certainly would not have come on here and said that it was because they were all razzle dazzle and no substance. You can still take comfort in the fact that you're a lock for the NCAA tourney and PSU would be lucky to get an NIT bid

  8.
  9. I heard they don't think much of you either.
  10. Aaron Neville sucks.
  11. and how has that been working out?
  12. Not a great night for the Bulls, but their competition had a lot to do with it. sure, but it was certainly a clinic on ball movement and floor spacing by Phoenix. The Bulls haven't played like that since the late 90's
  13. Let me tell you what happened. Illinois started 13-0 Dee and McBride jumped around pointed at PSU, then we coaxed. Up 14 at half. The Randle and Augustine decide to get in one of your guys face. Then we don't review the clock when Smith is fouled with 2.6sec. the clock sets at 2.2. McBride makes a shot a.0001 of a second to late. We deserve the loss though as we mailed it in. sounds exciting. Surprising that the clock thing wasn't reviewed....you'd think the Illini would get home court advantage on that sort of decision Ah they didn't argue, they deserved to lose. They took you guys for granted and then tried to act all superior and lost as a result of it. I cannot believe that Dee let this happen. I would not want to be in practice with them tomorrow. Dee shot 25%. He doesn't look nearly as good when he doesn't have Head and Williams there to bail him out on bad shooting nights.

  15. Last time I checked, Augestine is a senior now. Yeah I am aware. I am also aware he has cost us a national championship with his disappearing act. You would think a senior would play better than that. Every game in the last three years we have lost was because he was in foul trouble. Every single one. Oh please, it wasn't only his fault that we lost the NC game. And don't give me that crap about him being the fault we have lost every game in the last three years. That's not true and you know it. I would say that Dee Brown's abysmal shooting cost you at least this game plus the Iowa game. I think his NBA prospects are slipping daily.
  16. but Yahoo's says 4. I didn't see the game so I'll take your word for it. It was supposed to be on TV here but wasn't for some reason
  17. Last time I checked, Augestine is a senior now. Yeah I am aware. I am also aware he has cost us a national championship with his disappearing act. You would think a senior would play better than that. Every game in the last three years we have lost was because he was in foul trouble. Every single one. He only had 3 fouls today, and even if they were all early(don't know, didn't see the game), the problems appeared to come in the second half. He had four fouls, thus he sat when they cut the lead from 11 to -1 The ESPN.com box score lists him as having just 3 fouls

You would think a senior would play better than that. Every game in the last three years we have lost was because he was in foul trouble. Every single one. Doesn't he automatically start every game with 2 fouls?
  19. I turned it on at half time and I have to say that the 3rd quarter was one of the worst quarters of basketball I've seen a team play in a long time. I mean, what the heck are the Bulls doing out there? Gordon was draining shots, but even some of those were not good ideas. This team is very bad.
  20. Wha? Wuzzu? Gigga-huh? Penn State beat a ranked team? The last time that happened was....?
  21. Further, Willie Parker didn't play at all his senior year at Virginia and now he's in the Super Bowl. Go figure. (I'm pretty sure that's the school and situation....I'm sure they'll beat the point to death on Sunday) The point being that people misevaluate talent at both levels, which is why the great scouts are great. They find the diamonds in the rough.
  22. PSU at #9 on the recruiting class list. I'll take it. It's nice when paired with the fact that zero PSU players were drafted to the NFL last year and we know we'll see several this April EDIT: ESPN's crawl said #9, but the paper today said 6 or 7 depending on who you ask. Just for Truffle, mini-bios of all of PSU's recruits (just click on each name) An added note:
  23. no, i'm becoming a Spikes fan. The affiliation with the Cards expires after the 2006 season
  24. I remember the restaurant at US Comiskular has a policy that if you want to sit at the windows, you basically have to keep buying food/drinks.
