  1. Who wants another RB? Everyone calling for Deangelo Williams to be picked. That was ndistops, hes a Panthers fan. i see. Notre Dame fan, not a Bears fan. That's two strikes against him

  3. this game is still on? I would have thought they would employ the mercy rule already.
  4. Why do some of you want yet another RB? Already giving up on Benson?
  5. That would be very interesting. I would feel very conflicted having an O$U guy on the Bears Random question. Who's Penn State's biggest conference rival? Who's their biggest overall rival? I feel like recently it's been O$U. They have the Landgrant Trophy with Michigan St., but that was concocted as a completely artificial "rivalry" that doesn't really feel any different than, say, Purdue or Indiana.

  7. I think Hali went a little early but he was basically projected for late 1st/early 2nd round. He's quick as hell for a DE and would actually do well lining up outside in a 3-4 defense. He's got more desire than I've seen in a long time, mostly due to his escape from an oppressive country in Africa (where his mother still lives.....thankfully this new NFL contract will allow him to get her out of there)
  8. He's insanely fast and going to the same school as other busts means nothing. I'm not saying he's guaranteed to be bad, but when you consistently have WR's from a school drafted and being busts, you have to question whether or not the system(I understand they've changed regimes, but principally it's been similar) masks their flaws. Ah, the Penn State Running Back Syndrome (only recently broken by Larry Johnson, but previously proudly brought to us by Blair Thomas, KiJana Carter and Curtis Enis)
  9. As long as Rusch is going to throw batting practice today, I'll take as many Prince Fielder HR's as possible (to help my sorry HR Derby stats)
  10. Doug Davis takes, what, 2 hours and 47 minutes between pitches. God is this game going slow
  11. i'm just checking in from the NFL Draft thread to say that Glendon Rusch needs to die in a fire. back to the draft...
  12. that's what people said last year
  13. I love how people are actively rooting against Minnesota. Do they trade down now?
  14. definitely seems odd that Denver would move up to get a QB
  15. Millen is to NFL as Isaih Thomas is to NBA discuss
  16. i'm disappointed that there have been no trades yet
  17. cry Leinart! cry cry cry! aw, he's not even at his table anymore. good thing sportscenter followed the "not top 10" pick around all week
  18. interestingly, I was listening to the pre-draft coverage on ESPNRadio and Mike and Mike predicted that Leinart would be the Rodgers/Roethlisberger of the 2006 draft (as far as falling way lower than expected)
  19. I think if Oakland takes Jay Cuttler we may just see Leinart cry on national TV
  20. Matt Leinart is now looking at #7 OAK, #10 ARZ, #11 STL or #17 MIN. Talk about a nightmare day for you and your paycheck!
  21. I'm sort of curious how a team can sign a player pre-draft when they don't have the rights to the player yet. Is it only the team with the #1 overall pick who can do this?
  22. If Williams is a bust, this move may end up being compared to the Sam Bowie (sp?) pick in '84
  23. I love draft day, even if only one PSU player is projected to go on the first day (Tamba Hali, late 1st/early 2nd round). Michael Robinson and the rest are all 2nd day guys if not free agents...
  24. The NFL simply needs to impose a rookie salary cap (a la the NBA) and we'll never have to suffer through another hold out, outrageous salary demand or other such nonsense from newly drafted rookies. Get it done NFL!
  25. For some weird reason, it seems like the folks I know who drive stoned are better drivers than normal people Yes, and a friend of mine can make 100 straight three-pointers when he's high but it doesn't mean we should advocate NBA players toking a bong before every game (well.....any more than they already do  )
