  1. If he was lucky (and he probably should have given up a run or two today) then it's the Cardinals hitters fault. It's not like they hit it hard right at people all day-pretty much every time they got runners on, they either struck out or hit a soft ground ball. So Pujols should be more concerned about that than anything Marquis threw. How many good starts in a row does Marquis have to have before we stop saying "lucky"?
  2. Marquis will continue to defy expectations, but lose 3-2
  3. and will almost surely break Pujols' record of 14 in the month of April
  4. just wait until his 30 HR, 65 RBI June....
  5. He just cost us a game, and it won't be the last. He's not the only concern, but he's pretty high on the list. Every time he gets in the game it's badness all around. he helped cost us a game. He wouldn't have been in the spot he was if the rest of the Cubs offense didn't suck nuts today. Also, Pie should have pinch run, not Cedeno. That said, he has failed miserably with just about every opportunity that has been given to him so far this eyar
  6. and split. only because of the awesomeness that is Rich Hill Ted Lilly has given up a total of 3 runs in his last 2 starts and has lost both Yeah. But, what are you gonna do? This is what we get when we sign up to be Cubs fans. TED LILLY'S BRAIN: I have 3 years and 6 months more of this? Just watch. His next start he'll give up 5 or 6 runs and get the win. fine with me

TED LILLY'S LIVER: Shut up, both of ya, and FEED ME

  10. In the past 2 days, the Cubs have scored a grand total of 4 runs off of Mark Redman and Braden Looper
  11. Hmmm, I can't see the game but surely on a walk it's a dead ball situation. no it's not. Why not? on a walk, the runner on 1st gets a free "dead ball" pass to 2nd base. Once he touches 2nd, the "free pass" is over, and if he comes off the bag, it's considered an attempt to take 3rd, thus he can be tagged out.
  12. is the ruling that he was "trying to advance to third"?
  13. if they are calling a guy out on a dead ball i would play the rest of the game under protest and get the league office on the phone right [expletive] now
  14. Has he had a good one since ST ended? lol, I'm just mad because he needed to be hitting to the right side. Wasn't there 1 out? Who cares what side he hits it to. Hitters should always be looking to advance the runner. There's no guarantee Blanco can score from 2B on a single... You can't predict the future, Lilly might have singled. It was a bad at bat by Izturis! wrong. hitters should always be looking to hit the ball hard. whether that means pulling an inside pitch or going the other way with an outside pitch. this "advancing runners" thing is no good. giving up outs to "advance runners" is analogous to "competing within the division". One should always aim higher
  15. i want a little more scoring before I got get my Frappuccino (god i love it when it warms up)
  16. explanation for those of us outside chicago please
  17. Josh Hamilton. David Arquette. Kermit the Fog. I'll say Devin Hester is back for round 2. Matthew McCaunghey? (or however the heck you spell it) Me [you] wait, what? I'm doing the stretch. You got a problem with that? look at the code for this post. UBlink used a super secret tag....
  18. my marginal interest in the NHL playoffs died with the Penguins loss.

  21. DeRosa leads the team in HR, so naturally you bat him 5th
  22. I am so sick of this term. It became the vogue phrase this March, moreso than I've ever heard. Mike and Mike said it 50 times every morning. i had never heard it prior to this thread, but i'm already tired of it
  23. I've got the over if we're getting technical. On the 6.5 or the 5.5? The 5.5 but 6.5 wouldn't surprise me. I think they beat the Heat and scare the Pistons. sadly, should the bulls beat the heat, all the ESPN coverage will swing to the Cavs and the Bulls won't even make the first 3 segments of Sportscenter
