  1. I understand the point of the Ignore List, but what is the Friend List for?
  2. those are probably the same people who get trashed at concerts and decide the best way to let the band know that they're having a good time is to throw their beer at the stage
  3. I'd like to see him benched because he can't hit lefties. But I don't like using the 9 LOB yesterday as the reason. That kind of thing happens. And you really can't kill Jones for that. His GM and manager should never put him in a position to do such a thing in the first place, even if Jones feels he should start everyday. You're talking about a guy who, over the course of his career, makes an out 72.5% of the time he faces a lefty. Making 4-5 outs in a row against a LHP is really nothing. his approach was horrible in the at-bats last night though. It wasn't bad luck or making contact on pitcher's pitches. He was swinging at garbage and showing zero patience
  4. agreed on the offense. Derrek Lee leads the NL in average but is tied for 10th in RBI. That's the season in a nutshell
  5. i'd think that the, what, 9 LOB for Jones last night should see him benched
  6. fine with me
  7. if you scrap the division winner, you might as well scrap the divisions, as they'd have no point anymore Effectively, they already did that. Miami won their division this year but got rewarded by having to play the Bulls who, despited being the fifth seed, had the third best record in the East. And the Heat didn't even get home court advantage in the first round. but the division winners are guaranteed at least a 4th seed. if you scrapped the division winners, the bulls would have been the #3 and Miami the #5 And if you're Miami, who would you rather play in the first round, the Bulls (who they got under the current system) or the Raptors (who had the fourth best record in the league)? That guarantee actually hurt Miami. they knew the seeding rules and should have played better to avoid a bad matchup

  9. my opinion when he was signed was a "wait and see" attitude. i didn't tear my hair out like most people, nor did I predict anything great for him. i'm very happy to take everything positive he can give

  11. i blame Bruce Weber

  13. He's good. But he WILL be somewhat worse the 2nd half. Keep in mind I've always been a Marquis supporter. He'll drop off a little bit, but will still overall, have a great year. well, yeah, he isn't going to have a 1.71 ERA all year, but starting pitching has definitely NOT been a problem this year
  14. so are still waiting for the other shoe to drop on marquis, or can we say that (for now) he and lilly were good acquisitions?
  15. jones was .250 against lefties starting the game. i'm sure pie was worse
  16. okay marquis, ignore the fact that you have a goober in center behind you and just pitch one out
  17. of all the times NOT to start randomly pinch hitting people...
