  1. I think you're wrong about that. Gordon has improvements to make before he's a point guard, but he displays excellent passing abilities at the high school level. He improved in that area a ton last season. That said, he'll likely never be a true point guard, maybe a point guard in the Gilbert Arenas mode though. I look no further than his last name to make an Eric Gordon comparison. He reminds me a lot of Ben Gordon, but with better ball handling ability. Arenas is a pretty good comparison too. He is much more athletic than Ben G. EJ does winmill dunks. Against high school competition. When he does something like this in the NBA, I'll believe he's much more athletic than Ben Gordon. http://youtube.com/watch?v=7mzsazDWVcY By the way, is that Frank "pass the bong" Williams with the assist? WTH are you talking about? sounds like speculation to me. Nothing in Frankie's wikipedia entry about any alleged drug use
  2. .240/.320/.367 in 53 games .181/.263/.306 at Wrigley so yeah, he'll get 3 hits with 7 RBI. Book it
  3. Daren?
  4. DC is about 4-5 hours from there. Are you implying I didn't know where Virgina Tech is in relation to DC? The Nationals market serves the state of Virgina. Hopefully you were just making a blanket statement. Whether for you, or for anyone else who may have read it and assumed it was closer than that. If something happens at Eastern Illinois, should the Cubs/Sox wear a patch? The commutes, TV rights, are the same. Um... the Nationals are the closet franchise to Blacksburg, the second closet is Baltimore by 30 mins, but since that is in Maryland, the Nationals are considered the home team of the state of Virginia. Im sure most of the posters are aware where the Nations Capital is, and that Virgina is a Large state. The possibility of VT not being two blocks away from RFK probably hit the minds or even the most geographically challenged. But BTW...I think both the sox and cubs could wear and would wear a patch. It would be great for the Nationals to have a VT patch or something like that on their jerseys for the rest of the year. yes, we are all aware the Washington DC is NOT in Virginia
  5. Pete Rozell deeply regreted his decision not to cancel NFL games following the Kenneddy Assasination...IIRC. okay, sure, something like that would qualify as well.
  6. theonly reason to cancel a sporting event is if events have been precipitated that could endanger those attending games (ie 9/11)
  7. brandon phillips is a CAMERA HOG
  8. Wright gets compared to LaMarcus Aldridge a lot. I see that more than Tyrus. what, he has heart problems? ;)
  9. Because Jackie Robinson wasn't available? so the next best choice was a rich white kid from Notre Dame?
  10. not on WGN. Looks like another night of painting for me
  11. no one picked A-Rod either....
  12. The Bulls hold the tiebreaker over the Cavs in head to head meetings. A division title guarantees a Top 4 seed, not top 3 (but does not guarantee home court advantage). Detroit is #1, with chicago/cleveland #2 based on having the 2nd best record in the conference. The #3 Central team would be #5 because the Atlantic and Southeast winners get top 4 seeds automatically. Chicago/Cleveland at #5 would have homecourt over the #4 seed, however, due to a better overall record
  13. why is Brady f'in Quinn throwing out the first pitch on Jackie Robinson day?
  14. wouldn't Ian Kinsler (6) be the best wildcard pick for the "perfect" score?
  15. I just hate to see great pitching performances wasted, no matter if that's a lack of homers, situational hitting, bad defense, or whatever
  16. If that was what the Wiz called "effort", I will gladly take them in the first round this year. I hate being overconfident, but is there ANY way the Bulls don't mop the floor with them right now?
  17. yeah, he is, but O$U set themselves up to be a "one-and-done" NBA launching pad program, so they better hope they have a dominant freshman class every year
  18. Ervin Santana + blue chip prospect + mid level prospect? That would kick ass. So would Billingsley + Betemit + Elbert. Not that I'm actually suggesting trading Z, but it wouldn't be the first time. I think I suggested it twice last season and once during the offseason on this board. Its an option that the longer he goes w/o re-signing, becomes more of a reality. I'm for it. I agree. There is noway I would give Z 90-100 mill contract right now. An ace doesnt walk 4 batters per game, and blow 5 run leads. If the Cubs continue sucking, I would have no problem trading Z for one hell of a package. because someone is going to offer a package of blue chip prospects for a pitcher who walks 4 batters per game and blows 5 run leads?
  19. This just in: Soriano has played exactly 9 more games in CF than I have
  20. That would be Hibbert and Green, but neither have signed with agents. I believe Chandler did hire an agent - dumb move. I agree. Just because you're the best player on your team doesn't make you a lottery pick. Chandler will be lucky to go in the 2nd round. I'd hate to see him give up on DePaul and not get drafted at all
  21. Don't think it's been posted yet, but Wilson Chandler (DePaul) as well as Hibbert and another guy (Georgetown) throw their names in the ring
  22. The Buffalo Bills have a QB that no one outside of the starting eleven has heard of, so they will take QB Troy Smith, O$U
  23. save the boos for the umpires. i hear they really like it
