  2. DeRosa leads the team in HR, so naturally you bat him 5th
  3. I am so sick of this term. It became the vogue phrase this March, moreso than I've ever heard. Mike and Mike said it 50 times every morning. i had never heard it prior to this thread, but i'm already tired of it
  4. I've got the over if we're getting technical. On the 6.5 or the 5.5? The 5.5 but 6.5 wouldn't surprise me. I think they beat the Heat and scare the Pistons. sadly, should the bulls beat the heat, all the ESPN coverage will swing to the Cavs and the Bulls won't even make the first 3 segments of Sportscenter
  5. Everybody is a guest on everybody's record now. It's like those bloated 1970's disaster and car-chase movies with the huge "all-star" cast. The idea was to cram as many familiar names into the credits as possible to prolong the life of a played-out formula. there are like 2 songs on "Late Registration" that don't have guest rappers: Adam Levine Lupe Fiasco Jamie Foxx Paul Wall & GLC Common Game Brandy Jay-Z Nas Really Doe Consequence Cam'ron Guest rapping sucks. Hip hop listeners can't maintain their interest for a whole album anymore without the added bling of the guests. I knew hip hop was headed for a decline in popularity when getting a big list of stars in a record's credits became more important than the music. It's pretty bad when even the people who make the records have accepted that the music alone is not enough to make the audience give a crap anymore. I'll take guest rappers over guest R&B stars on every track (Ja Rule, I'm looking in your direction) Late Registration is pretty darn good actually, despite never knowing who you're listening to. And as far as a Hip Hop record in the last decade with no guests, I give you: http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/P/B00021LRWM.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_SS500_.jpg
  6. He would have been a "waste" if he never played baseball. Athletes aren't perfect, and despite his amazing natural ability, he made some bad decisions. He cleaned himself up, got in shape (largely on his own), and was givne a second chance, which he's capitalizing on. Saying "good for him" is in no way downplaying or insulting those players who "did it right" (whatever that means)
  7. As did Mike Conley, Jr. Cook will go pro also. Wasn't this all reported like a week ago, or was that just rumored? It was reported, then everyone took it back because they realized the players hadn't completely decided. conley/cook not expected to sign agents.
  8. Irony was that Gammons was talking about how good the Rangers' arms were (when the game was 3-3)
  9. baseball tonight just showed the final out of the ballgame as their entire highlight package and said dempster was good. Gave all of 20 seconds to the game.
  10. Josh Hamilton hit his 5th
  11. FAST FORWARD TO MONDAY "If you had told me that the Cubs would be 9-9 and the Cardinals would be 6-12 at this point in the season...."
  12. that was a beautiful, beautiful ballgame
  13. Ronny looks like he aged 10 years in the off season. his skin looks terrible
  14. so, Hill's ERA+ was 608 coming into the game. What is it now?
  15. have I mentioned that I <3 Ramirez?
  16. you'll see that pitch during rain delay blooper reels
  17. Mostly youngsters and some career journeymen (Yates in this group). Their payroll has dropped drastically the past few years giving them the need to try to catch lightning in the bottle. well clearly no one goes to their games anymore They haven't in many years. Braves fans became spoiled with success after 14 straight years of playoffs and basically quite showing up during the season. They just waited until the postseason. didn't they also not sell out playoff games?
  18. Mostly youngsters and some career journeymen (Yates in this group). Their payroll has dropped drastically the past few years giving them the need to try to catch lightning in the bottle. well clearly no one goes to their games anymore The Braves have a pretty good team. yep, but the payroll will go down if attendance is down

  20. Trust me, abuck reminds those people of their stupidity every chance he gets. pfft. yea. THOSE people. Losers. Ozzie Guillen called Rich Hill a "Triple-A ****" Ozzie Guillen gave his mother a punch in the kidney for Christmas
  21. Bob, your avatar paired with this picture is... appropriate. David Aardsma can count this as the first time in his life that I have ever been measurably jealous of him. I'd prefer to see her in the Cubs version of that outfit, however. so THAT'S why he made that face in his photo. Well why is she making THAT face? she was born without eyelids
