  1. and JJ Hardy is on pace for 50 HR, 146 RBI and 110 R but oh, wait, R and RBI are meaningless, so you'll probably just ignore that (even though you sited the meaningless stats yourself) I only cited "meaningless" stats because that's all you want to use. no no, you're right, the guy with 50 fewer RBI is more valuable because he gets on base one more time per week
  2. lou has to create an impossible situation for his reliever to face before taking Marquis out. haven't you guys watched anything this year?
  3. Did you know this team is 1st in the NL with RISP? You wouldn't f'in know it from this series, would you?
  4. Trading Hinrich makes you a worse team than trading Gordon does. That's the guard I would trade. trading your leading scorer is always a great idea
  5. if lou had pinch hit Theriot for Izturis, wouldn't the Padres have pulled Wells for Linebrink?
  6. kind of appropriate that was my 1,000th post fixed
  7. I interpreted that to mean when Dusty screwed something up, it stayed screwed up. he just made one mistake over and over and over and over Showing up? you read my mind
  8. I interpreted that to mean when Dusty screwed something up, it stayed screwed up. he just made one mistake over and over and over and over
  9. everyone knows that Jones/Soriano and co. just try to pull everything. Ramirez and Lee have done a good job of going the other way

  11. derosa will triple, hoffman will uncork a wild pitch, but izturis won't get out of the way and will block derosa from scoring
  12. Nor do any of the other Cubs starters who've been let down by the bullpen and the ******* offense this year. [-X
  13. name a player with a high ops that doesn't add runs to the scoreboard i can name some that haven't been great at putting runs on the board: Derrek Lee Todd Helton Jorge Posada Ken Griffey Jr.
  14. biased? 7IP, 2ER, 8K is great by any definition
  15. hey, did you know the Cubs are #1 in the NL with RISP?
  16. so now lou is going to run up his pitch count?
  17. has ramirez hit th first pitch all 3 times at bat tonight?
  18. i want to steer away from the "value" thing for a sec and re-ask the question again: how valuable is a player who puts up a high OPS but doesn't add runs to the scoreboard?
