  1. yeah, don't get me wrong, I wish for nothing but the best from him and really hope he holds together a bullpen that seems to be unraveling at the moment. it was just weird. other people in the game thread felt it too
  2. I think equal parts of a) him coming out of the pen, b) him being really skinny and c) me psychologically moving on from Wood/Prior for my own sanity
  3. He's famous for having some of the quickest wrists in the history of the game. I think he would have been fine. i still think he would have juiced. it's awfully easy for him to sit on his high horse about Bonds when he never had the temptation to begin with I don't even know where to begin attacking that argument. why, because Aaron says he wouldn't? sure, it's presumptuous of me to just assume he would juice, but I think it's going to come to light that the vast majority of players in the 80's and 90's were doing SOMETHING, so why would Aaron be above that had he played in that era?
  4. this team has been cursed by the marginally acceptable play of Mike Fontenot. Lou's perception that Fontenot and Theriot are everyday MIF's has pushed DeRosa to the OF (where he's subpar defensively) and made Murton a 5th OF'er.
  5. I mentioned this in the Game Thread When Wood came into the game last night, I should have been excited. I wasn't. I was creeped out. His presence on the team just seemed weird. It's not his team anymore. Wood belongs on the field with Prior, Sosa and Alou. It's hard to explain, but it was kind of like seeing a friend from high school after many years. You spent a lot of good times with them in the past, but now they look different, you've changed....the chemistry is gone. Anyways, it was weird
  6. have you guys been watching the last 4 months? you actually think pie and/or murton will be made starters now? pie will be called up and sit on the bench. murton will continue to work his own butt groove in the pine. the everyday starting OF will be Floyd/Pagan/Jones and/or DeRosa. batting order will be: 1. Fontenot 2. Theriot 3. Lee 4. Ramirez 5. Floyd 6. DeRosa 7. Pagan 8. Kendall to think that ANY other situation is going to happen is really just being delusional. lou has shown NO signs that he will do anything but maintain the status quo with his lineup
  7. after saying Carlos Lee was coming up for the Cubs, Miller than said the Lee signed with the Brewers in the off season
  8. here comes the classic ESPN "10 minutes of highlights of the game you just spent 3 hours watching"
  9. that might have been the worst TV broadcast of a baseball game i've ever seen
  10. wow, i want to punch joe morgn in the face after that commetn
  11. Sean green playing a very Floyd-like RF tonight
  12. NEWSFLASH: Mets are better than the Cubs. More at 11
  13. She couldn't make it. this seriously reminds me of the OSU/Notre Dame football game a few years back when they repeatedly showed Brady Quinn's sister/A.J. Hawk's wife.... how soon we forget the hideous hag that was Kurt Warner's wife
  14. Ump is a tough guy. never mind the integrity of the game, let's tough this out buddy
  15. at least their's 2 outs....what, no outs? AH CRAP
  16. Jon Miller: "After the Cubs cut their 5 run lead in half..."
  17. 4 for 5? Not surprising for a career Negro Leaguer
  18. Glavine is loving life. Keep showing his wife, I want to Tivo the moment her heart breaks
  19. nice OpAvg for Feliciano, but that's a lot of walks
