  2. If it makes you guys feel any better, I'd lay even odds between Harden and Sheets getting injured. People are focusing too much on the fact that the Brewers acquired a work-horse while the Cubs acquired an injury problem; pre-trade, the CUBS had an ace workhorse and the Brewers had an injury problem. It all evens out
  3. Saturday game being on CSN is fine for the Chicago types, but FOX blacks out EVERY GAME on Saturdays between Noon and 7 or 8pm EDT
  4. if he pitches Saturday, all of us outside of Chicago will be screwed by the FOX blackout :x
  5. I'm assuming there are doctors involved and physicals and whatnot, right? He might get hurt eventually, but I don't think he's coming over as injured currently. no Mike Sirotka redux please kthanks
  6. currently Marquis is scheduled to pitch Friday, so I guess it's up to Lou whether he wants Marquis to face Zito (FRI) and Harden to face Cain (SAT) or vice versa
  7. Friday/Saturday Still listed for Friday on Yahoo's "probables"
  8. The good news is that Sean Gallagher can blossom in Oakland and then we can trade for him before he hits free agency
  9. oh, right, CC is pitching tonight. I had forgotten that what with THE CUBS JUST ACQUIRING RICH EFFING HARDEN
  10. Based on normal rest, his first start could/should be Friday against the Giants
  11. Based on normal rest, his first start could/should be Friday against the Giants
  12. Making this announcement before CC can even take the mound against the Rockies is beyond awesome. THUNDER STOLEN BITCHES!
  13. In order of favorites (and aside from Wall-E, which I've seen once, i've seen each of the others at least 20 times each.....having kids will do that): 1. Monsters, Inc. 2. Toy Story 3. Finding Nemo 4. Wall-E 5. The Incredibles 6. Toy Story 2 7. Ratatouille 8. Cars 9. A Bug's Life
  14. Yes. If the options are a) see LOTR in the theater alone or b) not see LOTR in the theater at all, it's a pretty clear choice. After 11 years of marriage, you stop trying to make your wife go see stuff you know she won't like.
  15. can we trade for Greg Maddux, but only under the provision that he retires at season's end and becomes our pitching coach?
  16. I think Hendry was meeting with the CPD about getting a restraining order against Sweet Swinging Billy
  17. you don't need to be a member to see posts, at least you didn't used to. i've read some of their stuff and i'm not a member
  18. I saw the Cubs beat Milwaukee up at Miller Field (Wood pitching) during that win streak
  19. and i never said that. and it's not a meaningful analogy for the reasons i pointed out above. i've argued with lots of people about rich hill over the years, and, i have to say, you are one of the worst. and that's saying something. Awesome. Thanks for the personal attack. In kind, I take it as a compliment that one of Desipio's most oft-whipped NSBB posters doesn't like me. i wouldn't take that as a compliment. What's Desipio? Did a google search and it looks like it's just a blog to me, which is pretty different than a message board. it has a message board. it's just as self-loathing as Dodger Blues, but about 1% as funny
  20. what does this have to do with Chuck Knoblauch?
  21. i don't know what was worse on that play, the baserunning or the defense. I guess the defense when you consider the end result
