  1. There's a guy like Michael Beasley in every draft (Although maybe not as good as him) but when you have a great point guard like Derrick Rose in a point guards league, you have to pick him. A big(ger) guy that can both score inside and outside and that has phenomenal rebounding skills? I guess a guy like that comes around every draft. I agree with you on Rose, but to totally dismiss Beasley as a "guy that comes around every draft" is really bad analysis. at his size (compared to other NBA players at his position), won't his rebound numbers go down?
  2. even if he's serious (about playing for free), the union would never in a million years allow him to
  3. if you're referring to me, that's not what I was saying. I was only pointing out they had similar numbers in their final years of college.
  4. The Cards are so lucky.....they have this rookie catcher who never hit at all before last year in AAA and now he's the leading vote-getter in the NL at his position. Oh wait, that's us But they do have this over-the-hill 38 year old scrap heap CF who is hitting the snot out of the ball. Nope, us too. Oh, right, their light-hitting SS who everyone wanted to be replaced in the off season who is leading the team in average and has a bazillion multi-hit games. Um. Must be the mediocre reliever turned lights-out starter who is undefeated at home. No, not the Cards?
  5. It's cause it's at their crappy ballpark. coupled with their overall "meh" effort against the O's
  6. It is when your 19 year old PG is extermely more talented then your current PG. you assume. there are zero guarantees that collegiate success translates to the NBA (there are too many examples to list). I'm not sure throwing him into the starting role on a team with playoff expectations is wise. Early failure could screw him up for good. LMAO, are you seriously suggesting that there is a remote possiblty that Hinrich could be better than Rose? Last I checked Rose doesn't like motorcylces, so I have no idea how this could be even humanly possible. Hinrich isn't even a true modern PG. I think Rose will definitely be better than Hinrich. I'm just saying that starting him Game 1 may be unwise. Interesting stat: Hinrich (Sr. Yr.) - 14.8 ppg, 5.0 apg Rose (Fr. Yr.) - 14.9 ppg, 4.5 apg Personally, I hope Hinrich isn't even on the roster by Opening Night I could care less about Rose's college stats becuase of the system he played in. You cold care less? How much less?

  9. for whatever reason, i'm far less excited about this series than I was about the one last weekend
  10. Because throwing a 19 year old PG with one year of college into the starting role while pushing your veteran multi-millionaires to the bench is good for the team? A lot needs to be sorted out.
  11. i think it's a fine trade. You certainly didn't need ANOTHER guard on the roster, so why not grab the rights to a European prospect who could end up being a Kukoc-esque guy down the road?
  12. Mike Matheny's hunting knife gift
  13. NBADraft.net has them taking George Hill, an Indiana native. http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/georgehill.html But obviously someone will have a better answer than me. i have zero idea who that is, but thanks.
  14. any speculation on the Bulls' 2nd round pick?
  15. beer baby
  16. yes. they gave the Knick's pick an F
  17. how can nba.com's draft page be 2 picks behind? that's shameful
  18. I'm counting on you guys to update me on this thing now. We have marjo-league thunderstorms rolling through and I lost my sattelite signal
  19. enough with the Scrubs commercials already
  20. average 3 runs per inning over the next 3 and we win
