  1. Dempster pitching on 2 days rest? DELICIOUS
  2. The National League sure is bad at this
  3. that show was weird. I could never figure out where they held it. Some stadium with 15 foot ivy covered walls and houses behind them I'm pretty sure those were all filmed at Wrigley Field....but the one in Los Angeles. It was. meaning what, a studio lot?

  5. to protect your kids? no, I usually don't take the kids. a 5 and 2 year old tend to get bored after about 1/2 an inning so why do you bring it? i'm not making fun of you (in this thread, at least), i just don't understand the psyche of a gloved baseball fan. I used to have season tickets for the local Short-A minor league team. My seats were 3 rows behind the 3rd base dugout, so a lot of foul balls (both liners and pop ups) headed our way. Again, I hardly bring one anymore, I just don't understand why someone shouldn't. The only reason I've heard is "it's not impressive to catch a ball with a glove" and "because it's dumb" i guess my reason would be because it's not a very...i don't know, "grown up" thing to do? i mean, if you want you can put a quarter in those rides outside of the grocery store and ride them when you're 33 years old you can, and i guess my reasoning for why you shouldn't would be something along the lines of "because it's dumb." so if you're looking for something beyond that, i don't know what to tell you. it just seems like an odd thing for a grown up to do simply because i find it strange that a grown up would care about getting a foul ball. I don't really care, which is why I don't bring it much anymore. that said, the people who are catching the foul ball with their bare hands are still catching a foul ball, so how are they any better (per your P.O.V.?) i mean, a ball is flying toward you...what are you supposed to do? i don't think those people are going to the game thinking "oh boy, i'm going to catch a foul ball" like people who bring their glove apparently are. it's not even really comparable. I'm not talking about those people, i'm talking about the ones who are climbing over other people to catch a foul pop-up with their bare hands

  7. as long as it's better than the NFL Network. that channel hasn't impressed me much
  8. I think this season will be the end of it. 2 years ago the story was "he's back playing baseball", last year was "he made it to the big leagues", and now he's having an MVP type season in 2008. there isn't much else to write about
  9. just so we're clear, the "ballplayers are wussies for wearing a glove" comment should've been in green font

  12. who exactly are we trying to impress by catching balls with our bare hands? and for what it's worth, I maybe take my glove to 20% of the games I go to
  13. Ichiro is overrated? Because he is. seriously?
  14. what's the best site to see EqA stats?
  15. man, you are like 0 for the week. surely you have something better to do than keep score
  16. it's obviously from after the home run derby last night, photoshopped to look like it was at Wrigley during the day I heard that they already tore Yankee Stadium down and the entire season has been played in front of a green screen
  17. what's up with Duaner Sanchez's leg cross thing?
  18. yeah, and your argument comparing fans with gloves to players with gloves was air tight. about as airtight as "every adult with a glove is a mouth-breather who just wants autographs and will steal balls from kids"
  19. there has yet to be a convincing argument about why adults can't have gloves
  20. wait, you're saying that hanging out with Elijah Dukes and Delmon Young might have been bad? HELL YOU SAY
  21. It does seem to come up on a monthly basis. While Ive only been around here for about a year, I can imagine that in '04-'05 similar converstations about Dontrelle Willis came up frequently. you imagine correctly
  22. i always liked Billy Wagner's I hate Jose Contreras'
