  1. any proposal that still has red-billed away caps is an automatic FAIL
  2. remember when they couldn't get more than 20 over? yeah, 29 over Let's say 30 over tomorrow, yeah?
  3. eh, it was really close. two great routines, Horton with a step at the end. Could've gone either way.
  4. I refuse to vote until I can select more than one option
  5. It was so amazingly awesome to see Baker and his horrible fundamentals on another team. How many basic errors did the Reds make tonight? It's so amazing to NOT have that dip-ish running this team anymore
  6. better judging tonight on the Gymnastics events.
  7. Alfonso you see In Wrigley's holy light Soriano leads off at the twilight's last gleaming. Whose pin stripes and big C out in Wrigley's left field, O'er the bleachers he watched his homerun gallantly flying. And the stadiums' lights glare, the flyballs flying in air, Gave proof through the night that his hop was still there. Oh, say does Soriano deserve the MVP? Cubs are 51-24, with him in the linnnnnneeeeee uuuuuuuuuuupppppppp! PLAY BALL!
  8. That and Giambi put up a 1.137 OPS to Ichiro's .838. yeah, but what was the Yankee's record with him in the lineup? that's what really matters (so i've learned) 0-0, but I get the joke. wow, undefeated
  9. 2 PTBNL or cash so yes, yes they did
  10. one might argue that without Sabathia, the Brewers would be 3rd place (or worse) right now. What pitcher did they have who was going to go 8-0 (while pretty consistently keep opposing teams from getting to whack around that bullpen) over this span? what if the replacement pitcher went 4-2 and the bullpen won the other two... they wouldn't be that much worse off... anyway, i'm just saying that it's not like he's worth 8 wins because he's 8-0 (not saying you're saying that, but the way you presented the point is sort of misleading).... no, i'm not saying he's worth 8 wins, I'm just (poorly) trying refute the notion that the Brewers aren't any better with him than they were without him. I think that's clearly nonsense

  12. Those are probably from the Milwaukee series. Note the grey pants and the surroundings, definitely not a home game. someone in those pics is wearing pants?
  13. Cubs record with Theriot playing: 70-45 CASE CLOSED
  14. It's a shame that Ichiro won the MVP in 2001 Olerud played 2 more games than him and Bret Boone one more. Clearly Ichiro should have come in 3rd in voting that year.

  16. so it bothers you that he's excited that he won, or is it that his level of excitement doesn't match neatly into your made up "excitement scale"?
  17. So CC going 8-0 with the Brewers isn't valuable and the Brewers would be in the same position if they hadn't acquired him? This is what I'm hearing?
  18. Since someone (Jehrico I think) threw the common "3 true outcome" label on Dunn, I decided to see the actual breakdown: 4590 PA's 2918 Outs --1700 Put Outs 37.0% --1218 K's 26.5% 762 BB 16.6% 454 1B 9.8% 270 HR 5.8% 194 2B 4.2% 8 3B 0.01%
  19. kinda hard to say penn state "should have lost" when purdue needed 10 points in just over 2 minutes to even tie the game. would it have given purdue a better chance to send the game to overtime? yes, but even then purdue can still lose the game. so the blown call probably didn't affect the outcome of the game. not to mention that trying to get PSU fans to sympathize with blown ref calls is barking up the wrong tree
  20. You can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him!
  21. I can't get over Shawn Johnson's amazingly asymmetrical face. Her left eyebrow is like 3 inches higher than the right
  22. Well, the fact that Wagner played so long ago and so little film footage of him exists, makes it a bit more understandable how a smart baseball fan might not know what team he was with. I know Babe Ruth played for the Astros and Ty Cobb was the #1 pick in the 1993 Expansion Draft, but beyond that....
  23. I'm also not much of a baseball historian, so I'll admit that I didn't even know that Honus Wagner was a Pirate. After the Clemente/Stargell era Pirates the next ones I think of are the Bonds/Van Slyke/Bonilla teams
  24. that might be there worst song. clearly you didn't catch anything they did in the 80's (shudder)
  25. but it is how it works. I agree with you, but sadly, that's the state of Olympic competition these days.
