  1. you have 10 slots. 6 BCS conference champs are locks, so there are 4 at-large bids. One must be a non-BCS (if they are eligible), and the others are likely the SEC championship loser, the Big XII championship loser, and either USC or OSU. because of this, we may end up with some crazy non-BCS game like Oklahoma vs. USC or something
  2. Essentially no. Utah over BYU, Nevada over Boise, and your boys at UM must all win this weekend for there to be one. Without looking at the standings, wouldn't BYU jump you with the win? Ball St. needs BYU to lose so they'd jump ahead of BYU. but I can't see the BCS taking two non-BCS schools If Ohio State lost to Michigan, they wouldn't have a choice. No one would be eligible from the Big Ten, Pac-10, Big East or ACC. (This also assumes PSU wins Saturday and Oregon State loses again to keep USC from the at-large pool) a lot of assumptions since Oregon St. has 2 winnable games left and OSU is favored by 3 touchdowns
  3. btw, this year points to how stupid the "2 team per conference" limit is. Clearly 3 teams from the Big XII deserve to be considered above a lot of other teams.

  5. Exactly. I don't really understand what some of you are expecting. some of us expected that a playoff core plus two or 3 years of high draft picks wouldn't equal regression
  6. this is a terrible idea.
  7. LOL. 31 point deficit after 3
  8. more impressive tonight: the stand around offense or the stand around defense? discuss
  9. what the eff is Tyrus thomas doing out there?
  10. well now they're just toying with us.
  11. They can't shoot and don't have anything resembling a post move outside of Gray. And if Gray is your best front court player, you have BIG problems. add in the fact that the team can't rebound....
  12. The funny thing is that nearly every player on our team has come from one of the very best college programs in the country or had extensive international experience in Noc's case. Thomas played on a Final Four team, Gordon won an NCAA championship, Noah won two, Hinrich and Gooden played for one, Deng played for Duke, Rose played for one as well, Gray played Pitt. The pedigree just isn't there. You'd think with so many guys coming from big time programs theyh'd understand roles and basic principles better. But in a lot of ways this team has the collective basketball IQ of the immediate post-Jordan teams. Even Jay Williams was a Dukie! A lot of that has to fall on Pax. But now that most players who enter the NBA only enter after one year of college, they haven't developed. The good players ruled in high school and weren't forced to develop. Then they have one year of college basketball. It takes time. But none of the Bulls' big men will ever be anything sadly. This is a huge issue, and the future of the NBA could be grim if it turns into a developmental league
  13. you also have 4 big men who can't shoot at all. if the game plan is drive and dish but the opponent locks down Rose, the team is screwed.
  14. It's a lot of things: 1. Skiles lost the team, and no one has gotten them to respond like he did. 2. Team started playing for themselves more then as a team 3. The east has gotten much better 4. They got worse defensively (one example, Wallace to Gooden....as bad as Wallace was, Gooden is an embarassingly bad interior defender) The first 3 are all coaching. Clearly NBA guys are coachable (as illustrated by many other teams), but the Bulls have hired a string of sub-par guys post-Jackson. It's also pretty clear that teams don't win in the NBA without a superstar, and the Bulls haven't had one in a decade
  15. the thing that kills me is that the core of the team that made the 2nd round of the playoffs a few seasons ago remains intact, yet the team is getting worse.
  16. this particular game is terrible though. and a lot of us don't see every game, so when they're this awful on the one game a week we see them, it's frustrating
  17. I hope Przybilla at least says "pardon me" when asking Noah to step aside in the paint
  18. which Big Ten bottom feeder do you think you'd cream? Whoever your 7th bowl team is since that's who would go. Right now Minnesota and Illinois are tied for 6th. If someone wants to state a case that they'd kill us, be my guest. (Keeping in mind a much better Illinois team beat a much worse Ball State team by 11 last year.) I really hope a 6-6 Big Ten team doesn't go to a bowl game, and if they do, I hope and undefeated Ball St. draws a better matchup
  19. someone on the radio (dont' remember who) made a good point about the NBA: it's not a developmental league, especially for big men. If you're not really good coming into the league, you aren't going to become really good. None of Thomas, Gray or Noah were "really good" coming into the league.
  20. which Big Ten bottom feeder do you think you'd cream?
  21. Yes, they're on their way to a 5-7 record with a rookie coach and rookie point guard vs the 3rd hardest schedule in the NBA. Fold them! this team has NO offensive game plan at all. NONE. when they win, it's because their crappy mid-range jump shots happen to fall. it's embarrassing. i'm tired of this team being "young" and "inexperienced". every time it seems the team is going somewhere, it takes 2 steps back.
  22. Portland with 12 offensive rebounds in the first half
  23. tonight's performance is as bad as any I've seen post-Jordan. no joke.
  24. outscored by 21 in the first quarter. Best shot in the quarter was Gooden on a breakaway dunk. Seriously, fold this team
