Missed the game today, but I assume it went something like "Forfeit lineup fails to produce against Cy Young winning pitcher". Who could've seen this coming? -
In a bizarre turn of events, the bullpen pitches 5 1/3 scoreless innings after Marshall gives up 5 in 3 2/3, but the Cubs rally to win 7-5.

Continuing in their proud tradition of scheduling complete ass teams OOC, PSU's schedule includes Temple, Syracuse, Akron and Eastern Illinois (in addition to not playing Wisconsin or Purdue in conference). Such a joke. At least they start a home and away with Alabama next year

Why? Conf. Championship gets you extra practice time for your players and shortens the gap between the regular and bowl seasons. You need to add the team to get the conf. championship Doesnt seem to bother USC year in and year out and the Pac10 did well this year in their bowl games. How's this for expansion. Have ever B10 team play each other instead of just 8. This will get rid of some of those OOC clunkers. Yes, 2 OOC games and 10 conference games would be much better, I agree

The Big Ten needs to add 1 team and add a conference championship. It would be nice if the Big East added 4 teams and the Pac 10 added two for consistency's sake, but I'm not holding my breath

I think that it could be argued that if all 6 BCS conferences had a title game, it would be the second best thing to an actual playoff

Seems to me that some pitchers realized that he hits the ball opposite field a lot, so tried getting him out inside, and Theriot just happened to put a good swing on those pitches and they went out. That's all

I think his point about having the long layoff before bowl season is valid. I also agree that the Big Ten is not as good as they think they are, and that in general, their clinging to tradition hampers their ability to keep up with the Joneses

I know it's early, but we're past the spring games, and I found this article interesting: Paterno Pushes for Big 10 Expansion/Title Game Nice to see that the Dispatch is actually calling OSU out on this front.

Gordon is easy to love when his circus shots are dropping, but easy to hate when they aren't. I was watching Game 7 with my dad and some others who don't follow the Bulls, and early on I said "Watch #7, once he touches the ball, no one else will see it and he'll jack up something stupid." It's like Jalen Rose all over again. His assist to turnover ratio this year was 3.4:2.5. I'm willing to give up a few points of scoring for someone more consistent and less prone to trying to take over a game in the wrong way.

The Cubs actual record (10-11) matches their pythag record, so the record is a true reflection of the team play so far. Players may be underachieving on an individual level, but there certainly hasn't been any bad luck involved.
