  1. Deion Sanders is who I was reminded of when I watched him. He should have more power than Sanders and a better arm. But body type and first to third speed, Sanders stuck in my head.
  2. I love Tony in the booth. Talk about stating the obvious! " We have seen some terrible quarterback play tonight!" Wow, the insight. LOL.
  3. baseball stat researchers for ESPN: the most ignored people on earth. I didn't say it was a glorious position.
  4. IMB, you should be working as a stat researcher for ESPN or a sports network.
  5. If you bat him 8th he will never see a pitch to hit and you will destroy any confidence he has. 7th is debatable depending on who is 8th. Plus you will be wasting his speed down that far.
  6. It isn't that I feel Irabu was a complete disaster, but just because you got some good out of it, doesn't mean it wasn't painfull. Sometimes when you have stomach flu, you lose 10 pounds. Doesn't mean I want to run out and get stomach flu once a month. Irabu turned into El Duque turned into Contreras turned into Matsui into Igawa. It is funny my 6 year old is great with visualizing patterns. Bad, decent for a while, bad, decent for a while, bad would be a pattern I would try to end.
  7. Hey, don't paint me as an Igawa fan! I thought the Yankees would have learned of Hideki "The Fat Toad" Irabu. If it costs them another 6 million to get rid of him, they might as well keep him. He will be a decent long man. You know, games they are getting blown out he can eat innings, LOL. Maybe he and Carla Pavana can go for a drive together.
  8. So your point brings up another point. If this is possible, how many Dominicans do you think may have done the same as Sammy (if true). Players like Ortiz and Manny could easily have done the same thing and gotten away with it. And how dumb does that make Miguel Tejada look? That might just be an A's/Conseco thing. I think if a lot of players played for the Yanks or A's they would have had a bigger chance of being mentioned. Just curious as to why Yankeee players had a higher chance to be mentioned in your opinion. Didn't they have the guys from the inside (Mets too) that that gave the info to Mitchell? If you are referring to McNamee, he followed Clemens from Toronto. The Yankees hired him at Clemens request.
  9. At almost the same cost as Fukudome of 12 million a season its not going to be too hard for him to fail. The more home games he pitches the better off he will be. Can't do much worse than Kei Igawa. Kei Igawa makes 4 Million per. If he is anywhere close to Kei Igawa's number he is a SPECTACULAR failure at 12! I also do not think he will do well. You can't ignore that posting fee, even if you are a Yankee fan. OK if you want to count the posting fee, He is just over 10 per. Still younger and cheaper. However, he has trade value due to the low contract. So, I still beleive Koroda will be far worse.
  10. Jessica shed a tear for her man?
  11. Nice play!! Westbrook is smart!

  14. I agree Pie should be in the lineup. As for leading off, it isn't the worst idea. It is much better than batting him 7th or 8th. At least with the guys at the top, he will see some pitches. If you put him at the bottom, he will see garbage. The problem is, Pie needs to be given the job for 4-6 weeks and not have to look over his shoulder. This will give him the time to adjust to MLB pitching and find a comfort zone. Until he is given a legitimate shot, you will never see what he can really do. I saw him in Iowa and he can rake.
  15. I have always said Kapler was juiced. He was a ripped beast in the minors.
  16. Woody should be stripped of his vote immediately.
  17. There are plenty of current/ ex-yankees I would have prefered to see. A-Rod (already listed) Sheffield (everybody already new) David (fans forget what we did last year) Weathers Tim Raines Danny Tartabull Steve Kemp and the GREAT--- Ed Whitson!!
  18. Q - what do all these players have in common? A - they were paid little money at the time, yet outperformed the Yankees when it counted! Yes, to an extent. Beckett definately. Gonzalez got lucky. But Kim had NO success. I just thought it would be funny if he were listed after giving up those two shots. LOL Also, so how is this any different than all the Cardinals being listed?
  19. Hahah. Yes, it was just two days, honest. Hahahahahah. Well at least he admitted *something* I hate Andy Pettite, and the ridiculous "Great Pitcher" love he gets from everyone just because he was a Yankee with a lot of wins. Have any of these people actually looked at his numbers? They're not that spectacular. It ticks me off when people refer to him as an elite pitcher. I'm glad this knocks him down a bit. I would not refer to Pettitte as an elite pitcher. His stats may not be remarkable. He is a big game pitcher though. I would want Pettitte (in his prime) pitching game 2 of any playoff series when the team lost game 1. Pettitte/Maddux game 5 in 96 is still one wonderful game to watch. And Yes, it bothers me he is listed, even though I knew he was coming due to his association with Clemens.
  20. I am still infatuated with the Dolphins beating them and that being their only win. What a beautiful way to end the garbage.
  21. Steve K-Fuk I am so glad I read this thread! LOL.
  22. I love all the Jeter hate! Just soaking it in, LOL. I would have liked A-Rod. How about Luis Gonzalez Byun-hung Kim Josh Beckett
  23. I can see him putting a BM into a blender and stuffing it into a syringe. The next "most disturbing" Youtube video on the net!
  24. Kevin brown and his first ever 100 Million dollar contract wasn't enough for you?
  25. I wouldn't know, but isn't anabolic steroids illegal in this country? so is assault and battery, but Cobb is in the Hall Yeah, I can't argue that, but was there any evidence that Cobb took steroids or anything like that? Cobb= definate 'Roid Rage!
